That is the very same way I used to seat the bead on my 42" Super Swampers for the Jeep

Famous last words of a redneck: "hey everybody, watch this!!"
Actually that is brilliant and hilarious at the same time. Would make a good Boy Scout merit badge.cheezycheese - 21-11-2010 at 04:35 PM
My BF's were done like that...:Darkay - 21-11-2010 at 04:38 PM
that's how jellis set the bead on my current fb tires. used started fluid as a lubricant to get the tire on then to pop it. But the air starts to
cool pretty quickly after it ignites so filler up quick I also purged the tire
a few times to get rid of the flamable smell BeamerBob - 21-11-2010 at 05:15 PM
I saw a documentary several years ago where some guys in a pair of Toyota landcruisers were making their way across antarctica. They had huge 40 or
42 inch tires and ran very low psi in them. With such low pressure they would frequently roll a bead off a rim and would reseat it this way. I
thought it was pretty slick.shehatesmyhobbies - 21-11-2010 at 05:42 PM
They used to do Tractor trailer tires that way! Pretty cool way to do it, I like his "fuse". clever actually!cheezycheese - 21-11-2010 at 06:56 PM
Yeah I thought the fuse thing was pretty cool also... A lot "safer" than throwing a match in the tire...sunset-Jim - 22-11-2010 at 09:01 AM
I would have to say that "fuse" sure will save some hair on your hands on maybe even an eyebrow :oBeamerBob - 22-11-2010 at 09:13 AM

So Jim, you've "heard stories" about people having trouble like that? :smug:sunset-Jim - 22-11-2010 at 03:21 PM
uhhh, nooh... not at all. uhhhh, just sounds, like that could happen, ya... that's it... :evil:rocfighter - 23-11-2010 at 05:15 AM
Man we did that with 22inch truck tires for years at the shop. Then we got a tyre-inflate can it shoots 150lbs of air into the tire in
about 1/4 of a second. Loud and hurts when your thumb is in the way (kicks like a mule). But a whole lot safer!!Kamikuza - 23-11-2010 at 05:27 AM
love it!snowspider - 23-11-2010 at 07:54 AM
Done that with acetelene. NOT manufacture recomended!!
