Methods are here!

awindofchange - 23-11-2010 at 05:53 PM

Hey PKF, we just got in our shipment of Ozone Method's and they are awesome! We're gonna head out to the lake bed this weekend (weather permitting) and put some of them to the test! We're super stoked to give these new bad boys a try.

If anyone can make it out to Ivanpah this weekend let me know and you can take a spin on them with us. We'll have tons of demo kites available for everyone to try out as well as plenty for sale.

Where do these kites fit into the scheme of things? Lift, stability, speed, that sort of stuff we all care about.

EDIT: Found it. Sounds like it can go up against the Reactor II but it looks lower AR than the RII. It would be fun to put them up against one another. I sure wish I could come spend a few days this weekend sorting it out with you!

In the Ozone scheme of things, the Method fits in between the Flow and the Yakuza GT race kite.

It is higher aspect and has more cells than its similar sized Flows, but it maintains similar stability to its little brother the Flow. It is no where near the performance of a Yakuza style kite, but it does offer more speed and power/punch than the Flow.

If you have ever flown an Ozone, you are aware of the inherent auto-stable profile every kite has built into it. Its part of Ozones philosophy to build safe wings. In paraglider terms, Ozone wanted every wing to always 'want to fly' to naturally keep pilots safe.

You'll find the Method is one of the most current designs, bringing the latest paragliding tech into the power kite world. Stability is paramount, and performance comes hand in hand now.

The Methods are brand new in the USA this week, and available online direct from Ozone at http://www.flyozoneusa.com/products/method

Hopefully we can get videos on the snow this week, I'm looking forward to using the larger Methods with the Turbo Bar as a minimalist Snowkite set up.

Call for the best pricing on package options.

Cool videos with Techy info on the new Ozone technology. They set out to design the most high performance wing ever, with a design brief that it had to be stable on a single line. The result has been the highest performance paraglider in the world and has helped Ozone to become the largest Para manufacturer in the world the past 2 years.

This technology has helped create a new world of wings, and has inspired the 2011 Frenzy, the Method, and the 2010/2011 Inflatable kite range like the all-powerful Zephyr.

If you like to tech out you'll enjoy the videos.

To help provide the best customer service possible, and to allow customers the most direct and quick turn around on products, Ozone International has encouraged all distributors worldwide to create a Factory Retail Outlet.

In the past there have been retailers that sold products, especially on websites, without ever having the kites in stock. Now, customers have an additional opportunity, to purchase kites direct from the source. We still support the local retailer, and for the many riders that don't have a local shop to walk in, this is another option.

Look at this forum as an example of how technology has changed our flow of information. 10 years ago when I started with Ozone I didn't own a laptop. Today every Ozone kite ordered worldwide is purchased on a very dynamic online order system. From a click on my laptop to a sewing machine in Nam. Ozone has taken advantage of current technology, and is improving the sales experience down the entire chain. If we make life easier for us, we want it to be easier for everyone else to. So we are adapting to the modern climate and doing the best we can to provide prompt support and quick turn around for customers.

Bumpity bump....!

I'm keen to see some more info on these as I'm nearly sold on a 6.5m for my light wind kite.

I have a 4m demo at the moment but when I went to fly it the wind dropped right away to nothing. But for 10 minutes (!) it did fly very smoothly on the Turbo Bar and definitely gave me the impression it was going to be a moderately high performance kite but much easier to handle than similar kites - ie: Reactor II/Century 2. Unbelievably thin in the bridle dept - 3 A's & 3 B's on either side plus 4 on each end/trailing edge.

Anyone else had a run with one yet?

Maven454 - 6-12-2010 at 02:50 PM

I wish. I want one of the 6.5m, but just don't have the cash at the moment.

Hopefully when Kent gets a chance he can post his comments on the Method. Seems like a nice kite. Will be interesting to see how well it holds up with only an A and B row. Always good to see companies pushing the limits:thumbup:. Conversely I always worry when I see this...

Method Design & Performance Features >>
* Ozone’s world leading secret paragliding technology

Secret technology? ..............Uhhhhh,,,,,whenever I hear that stuff someone tries to sell you the "secret" car wax that will make your old junker look like a brand new Ferrari. Do kite companies really get feedback that those lines sell more kites? Good greif. Ozone makes nice kites but they could do without the marketing BS.

Sorry for the tangent. Maybe one will make an appearance at the next Wildwood.

I certainly expect to own one by next WW, not to mention that they should be sending me some demos for WW. There should be some at Tug Hill if you want to come snowkiting kteguru.
