Power Kite Forum

I'd like to propose a new forum category

... for Video editing, creating and hardware. We all do a heap of it and I'm sure there are plenty of questions - be nice to have them all in one category please Mr. Super-mod :)

So let me start with the first one - encoding Xvid, some people suggest "max i-frame interval" should be 10x frame rate but they're usually talking about 25 or 30 fps PAL or NTSC - what do I do if I've recorded 60fps GoPro? Use 600? Most of the posts I've seen suggest setting it lower for quality but all Max I-frame Interval seems to be for is seeking during play back ...

... and I can't see a difference between 300 or 600 :D

WOW. I have no idea what you just said. I need this catagory.

the bunch of kite nerds that we are would not be able to hold a candle to something more video specific.... there are lots of video help forums out there

videohelp.com/

dvinfo.net/forum/high-definition-video-editing-solutions/

aboutvideoediting.com/forum/index.php

.... and many more

'Fess up.... someone made a snarky remark about your camera didn't they? ("Geeeez.... when are you going to get a real camera.")

Hopefully, you were able to maintain your sunny disposition.

You mean you hoped he showed them the dazzling reflection of his luminous backside?

No I just can't be assed joining an "encoder" forum then have to wait days for an answer then wade through extraneous details :D
