Cold Cold and Cold

Ruudje - 20-12-2010 at 12:22 AM

Yesterday 12-19-2010 we went on the ice again :wee:
there was about 2 cm snow on the surface , to have a smooth run Ive made higher blades to cut the snow
( they worked out really well )
The wind was about 3 or 4 knots and the max. speed of the day was again for  Ozzy 62.8 km/h flying the Vapor 13.4

For the life of me I just can't get my head round snow in December.

31 degrees C, here today.

Even more frightening is, it was 46 years before I even saw snow.

By ice, do you mean frozen lakes???

Chook (On the sunny, south eastern coast of Western Australia)

Hi Chook
Yes I mean frozen lakes , The best thing about this is we now can use very large places to ride on :wink2:
The beaches in The Netherlands Ar small and crowded and on the frozen lake we got plenty of space !
Okay it was a bit cold -6 cell during the day and light wind maybe a chill factor - 12 cell.?
But to warm ower selfs we had a big tent whit heating :eureka:

We have a lot of Fun

Exactly what I was thinking. That's 10 times the speed of your wind!

Is the ground resistance even less than Ivanpah?
The vapors would rule at this since they pull so far forward in the window.

Ruudje - 20-12-2010 at 12:59 PM

The ice has so little friction and the big kites Ar very efficient that we could make these kinds of speeds .
We did not measured the wind but the forecast give the 3-4 knots wind .
Next stop XXmas weekend !!!!

Going to Have Fun

Chook - 20-12-2010 at 06:02 PM

Are you high enough up from the flood waters Glenn???
Poor buggers best crops after 10 years of drought and all washed away, or weather damaged.
Boy do I feel for them.

Chook, the ex grain #@%$#!y.

Kamikuza - 20-12-2010 at 06:04 PM

I saw a frozen lake once as a kid, way up in the mountains ... then someone fell through the ice and the day was over :o
