3-5 mph will require a large kite... before you fly a large kite, you will need to learn to fly a smaller kite... sorry to say there wont be much lifting at 5mph winds... a 5-6m kite in 5 mph winds should be doable, but if it gusts over 12mph or so, it might get a little scary for a new flier

Yes, Jumping will not be possible in the wind you describe. I have tried many ways to do so with little success .

Like mentioned. The right kite for that wind will be a large ( 6.5m or more ) . Unfortunately a smaller kite will be best for learning.

The Blade 4.9 is a pretty advanced kite for learning and then a bit small for the winds you have. A smaller less lifty kite would serve you best for learning. Then possibly larger Blade ? I am pleased with my old 9m Blade II as a low wind engine that will provide a lift in slightly higher winds.

You need a smaller kite to start out with. A Blade 4.9 is guaranteed to get you hurt. Try reading through this...
