just goes to show that @$*^ happens and even experienced riders can go down.......

It's a terrible tragedy and unfortunately it seems that the investigation results could have the narrow minded, knee jerk reaction of closing down
that riding spot to kiters. Most importantly its sad for this guy's family, but it also reminds us all to respect the wind no matter what experience
level you are. It only takes one accident that gets the wrong attention to lose access to a good location. Hope that doesn't happen at Nelson.

He prob. went too high, too fast, to cut?
I wonder how armored he was?

there is a thread on this on kitecrowd.
ive already replied there so ill copy and paste it here....
sad news indeed. ive flown my 15m in 30mph but a gust of 50 is way beyond anybody's flying capabilities. it just goes to show that even experienced
kiters can forget the basics, choose a kite for the conditions you are flying in.
we cannot bring him back but we can learn from this experiance.
RIP mate and good winds in heaven
