I have been looking at landboards and definately can't afford $650 for one are there any around for around half or better that will support a big guy
keep in mind I don't plan on launching to the moon but would like it to be durable.
Thanks

That's easy! What's your riding style? We'll go from there.truman - 28-12-2010 at 02:30 PM
no style just learning more riding like land more then water I know when I was a kid I was a #@%$#!ty skateboarder because I rode normal and olied
goofy LOL that was a long time ago don't even know if I got that backwards or not LOLSeanny - 28-12-2010 at 02:39 PM
Hmmm, try these...
MBS: Core 90, Core 95, Comp 90, Comp 95
Any USED Trampa because they're pricy
Scrub Psycho
Any Ground Industries board, but they're sold out currently so you'll have to ask around to find one.DAKITEZ - 28-12-2010 at 03:05 PM
can you define big guy a little better? we talking tall and big or big and short like me
most boards, with the exception of a few, have similar width stance, so that will not matter so much on your height, but weight capacity can be a
factor on some boards.truman - 28-12-2010 at 03:09 PM
big and short 250lbs but will be 200 by summer that is my goalSeanny - 28-12-2010 at 03:12 PM
Trampa boards give you an option to select the ply you want, or thickness... But you should do fine on any high quality board. IMHO Ground Industries
makes the best board around, and I believe Dino (DAKITEZ) deals with them a lot. You would do very well on a Conflict, Edge, or Patrol. The only
problem is they're a little hard to find. You should hit him up.
EDIT: Dave of Ground Industries has a profile on here, his name is DirtDave1. Talk to him, also. He'll hook you up DAKITEZ - 28-12-2010 at 03:14 PM
thats my goal too maybe closer to 220 I want to be able to still hold down my larger kites
your stance will be good for most all the boards out there. I would recommend staying away from skate style trucks. Go with the bionic style trucks so
you can change the cubes/eggs to give you a stiffer ride for your size.Seanny - 28-12-2010 at 03:19 PM
I agree, skate trucks are known to sheer and break and are not as durable as bionic, channel, etc.
I helped someone with their board problems earlier, the thread is here...
It's not dictionary accurate, but you can use it as a reference. Stance width doesn't really bother me, I'm 6'0 and ride a board with a stance width
that's about as wide as it is on a skateboard, but it is very important to some people. Try before you buy!indigo_wolf - 28-12-2010 at 03:28 PM
Dino has several boards that would probably suit your needs and price range, including some 2010 GI boards. The only downside is that he is located on the
US side of the boarder and shipping (/customs?) might burn a little.
If you need to deal a little closer to home you might want to contact markite who is a dealer that operates out of the Toronto/Cambridge area.

Ordering from the U.S. is not that bad if the company fills out their own paperwork if they don't its not worth it. might get nabbed for the tax but
would have to pay that anyway if I bought it here.ripsessionkites - 28-12-2010 at 07:13 PM
Cheesy had a barely used MBS for sale
Phat a$$ Daskirtz has some GI on sale
(doesnt matter dino's weight, he will never hold down a "big" kite like his little asian master) ROFL. =)Seanny - 28-12-2010 at 07:15 PM
Phat a$$? weighing in at a grand total of 115 pounds, everyone is a phat a$$ compared to you Ricardo awindofchange - 28-12-2010 at 07:42 PM
We still have stock on most GI boards. Sold out of the Catalyst but have a few Conflicts, Edge's and Flights in stock with 2 Akoni Pro's left. The
Edge or flight would be an excellent choice.
You have Flights in stock?? :puzzled: I looked all over for those and couldn't find one anywhere :o I found a few Flight Lites, but even then it was a
rarity.flyjump - 28-12-2010 at 10:19 PM
Trampa all the way. The boards are built around your weight, height, stance, riding style, and deck stiffness. They cost more but are 100% rider
customized. Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.ripsessionkites - 28-12-2010 at 11:05 PM

Thanks guys I think I will follow through with Dakitez if my sale from my other hobby happensDirtDave1 - 29-12-2010 at 08:17 AM
I think DaKitez and A Wind of Change may still have an older GI deck with new components available....that maybe your most cost efficient way to go.
Talk to Dino & Kent about it! Otherwise Conflict is definitely the best choice for 200 plus though the Patrol will work too if Kent still has the
new Patrol jump all over it it is a killer board at a retail of $399- with Bionic trucks.
Flight and Flight Lite downfall is skatetrucks....this was done for all you kiteguys complaining about weight. Though they come with hollow 12mm axle
or titanium 9.5mm axle they still perform like skatetrucks!
Davetruman - 29-12-2010 at 09:50 AM
I am buying the Patrol off of Dakitez Just waiting for the boss (wife) to get home LOLDirtDave1 - 29-12-2010 at 11:15 AM

Almost choked on my cofee LOL! New gear is great motivator to get in shape YA!awindofchange - 29-12-2010 at 04:09 PM
I have 2 Edge's left in stock. I am out of Patrols. I also have a couple Conflicts.labrat - 30-12-2010 at 07:47 PM
I just have to ask:
- What is the reason for the limited availability of the boards at this time?
- Are MBS as limited as GI?
- Is this a seasonal low common between model years? If so, when will additional/new boards be available?
Just curious as I plan.DirtDave1 - 31-12-2010 at 03:48 PM
GI is just going through the "growing pains" hurt again...especially after releasing a new line of product last JanuaryWELDNGOD - 31-12-2010 at 03:50 PM
pretty sure you can get a TRAMPA anytime!:Darkay - 31-12-2010 at 08:48 PM
I also have a used GI AK 106 for sale... this is a great board! I need to sell this since I bought some more stuff so I'll give you a deal! http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=15574 This board has the upgraded bionic trucks.truman - 6-1-2011 at 03:06 PM
