Ive been robbed

flyguy0101 - 29-12-2010 at 02:30 PM

started yesterday morning by loading the skis in the truck only to discover that somebody decided my truck was a free picking site- they stole my digital camera, radar detector, and worst of all my handheld GPS- some people just suck. Police let me know when they arrived that i was the 4th person to call already and that was 7:30 in the morning. On a better note made it to White grass in canaan, WV and had a great day teleskiing in the woods with about 8" of fresh powpow. Knee held up for most of the day:thumbup:
Scott
PS did try to get some gopro footage of the boys- i will share if I did it right

Man Scott that really stinks! The thought of someone just helping themselves to someone's personal property really ticks me off. I hope you are able to recover your property!

On a better note, glad you got some time in the fresh powder!

Sorry to hear about your lost stuff, that blows...

Glad to hear you got out snowkiting though...
:)
Canaan WV? Was it decent out there? I need to get out and do some snowkiting...

@ Ragden- Spent the day telisking/ backcountry skiing at whitegrass- its a crosscountry/ touring center in between timberline and canaan. I did spy a great field to explore in the canaan state park that i am very interested in checking out on my next trip over there. It looks like it would be really good on a west wind which is what they get there most often. If you have not been out there- you need to check it out only 3 maybe 3.5 hrs from DC with the new corridor H. Also talked with a guy about some snowkiting on deep creek lake near friendsville MD.

Sorry to hear about that Scott, post up the brands that you lost and I'll watch Craigs list and Flea bay. Have any pawn shops close by?

Also good to hear you had a good day skiing  I also have wondered about Deep Creek Lake.

Damned thieves - I friggin' hate them :( sorry to hear about that

Txshooter38 - 29-12-2010 at 03:39 PM

Locked or unlocked?? We get alot of just walking and checking door handles for any that are easy targets. If you leave it unlocked (especially if there is anything of value visible) it will be gone in two shakes.

I watched a video from a wal-mart parking lot with two guys just walking and checking every handle. People walking all around them and never notice. Amazing how people are burglarizing cars 10 feet from them and they never notice.

Best of luck, I do hope you get some of it recovered and that the thief gets what they have earned.

Scott, sorry about your stolen stuff, that stinks.
I know the field at Canaan Valley State Park that you are referring to, it's just off the left side of the road as you head towards the resorts. I always see deer in that field.

I'm glad you enjoyed White Grass, I was at Timberline on Monday (there are great glades) and Friday - at Snowshoe on Tuesday and Wednesday last week. We have had some great early storms this year. I live in Elkins and am just 35 miles from that field in Canaan, so hit me up the next time you are headed this way.
