Got me a Speed

Houston AirHead - 29-12-2010 at 09:38 PM

Got me a red/black/white Speed 17 1.5 headed my direction via USPS. I can’t wait for the looks of despair stuck on the shore with too small of a kite.

ETA: Wednesday

You should convert that thing to a paraglider like some of those other guys, that'd be sick

Good for you Kenny... Can't wait to see you one handing this one off that skateboard

They might throw me in the looney bin if i tried that one. :wee:

it is designed to fly on 3m, 6m, 12m, or 21m lines I believe.

I could have used the kite today. I needed something between my 11m and 19m. I should have just got my 19m out but I am not as comfortable with it yet. I keep working on a video of me with the 17m in 8-10mph winds. I will try to post it soon.

Enjoy :wee:

Thanks again Stetson, you were awesome to deal with. Now i'll add you to the trusted buyer list just as soon as shes at my front door:bigok::lol::saint:

Thanks, and anytime. I am glad it worked out!! Now I really need to change my sig.

sweet Kenny .. let me know when you take it for a test run .. I'll join you with mine. I think your speed is identical to mine. it's crazy fast on a landboard.

stetson05 - 30-12-2010 at 01:08 PM

van you got a flexboard? I am jealous.

Kamikuza - 30-12-2010 at 05:59 PM

Good for you! Great kite, I loved it but ... the S2 19 is a beast and better suits my beastly bottom ;)

Houston AirHead - 30-12-2010 at 06:42 PM

Will do van. Ya one day I'll be able to afford a 19 deluxe. As soon as I can I'll let my 17 go for dirt cheap.

powerzone - 31-12-2010 at 12:54 PM

before you fly it.... afew things to make sure its tuned up:

stretch the ringlines - they shrink after awhile..... usually re tension them once or twice a year

mixertest - set the S1.5 kites to A0 / B+1.5 / C+3 for best depower or just to Neutral A0/B0/C/0 for stock.

it should have very little backstall when fully sheeted in and trimmed out. if it is backstalling too much, you'll have to shorten the Main Leader above the trimmer.

Reading the above:
I forgot, the 5th line might need to be stretched a little. I haven't flown it for a while but it seems like it was just a little tight and John recommended stretching it a little.

van - 31-12-2010 at 03:35 PM

stetson , I couldn't help it.. had to get the board once I got hook on it. It fit my style of riding more than the lighter boards.

Kenny, same here.. as soon as I save some extra cash, I would love to get a 19m deluxe. One of the kiteboarder in Rockport was kiting with one and he seem to just float like he was weightless each time he caught some air.

>>>>I might need to look at the manuel on this one.
im going to see how it flys first before i start adjusting the bridals.

Im used to red and white pigtails and larksheads, i cant wait to see how this wing is configured..lol

van - 31-12-2010 at 03:48 PM

First time I took mine out of the bag .. it was like Oh SH*T!!! that's alot of bridals and pulleys!! And they all criss cross. Way different than my LEIs.

Houston AirHead - 31-12-2010 at 09:59 PM

Can someone briefly explain the ABC system . Do the numbers correspond to knots on the bridal?
