Finally got me a job! (WORLDS BEST KFC COOK) XD

XdisasterXdrewX - 10-1-2011 at 03:10 PM

So ive been looking for jobs for the past 3 months and I walked into a KFC yesterday and the manager told me to come in tomorrow (today) for an interview.
I did and it went well.

Time to start saving for a kite/board. Ive been wanting to get out on the water but can't because I was dumb and bought a kite off eBay.

Just wanted to say a little something haha

It's a good feeling knowing that you'll have money coming in, congrats!

Seanny - 10-1-2011 at 05:04 PM

W00t! Now I need one! :lol: I'm spending every penny and have 0 income. Everywhere I've looked, they don't want to hire anyone under 18. 17 years old ftl.

Kamikuza - 10-1-2011 at 05:12 PM

Good stuff! Money is always good ... working is a suck though - still, I guess you gotta do SOMETHING when the weather isn't right ;)

kiteetik - 10-1-2011 at 06:00 PM

disaster drew-- i got some free lines and handles for ya--we might be at maumee bay saturday to do some kiting--i'll let you know......

XdisasterXdrewX - 10-1-2011 at 07:06 PM

@kiteetik
No, its on Central off of McCord.
And I don't know when the next time ill be heading out to Maumee Bay will be. (If i sent you money for shipping do you think you could send the lines/handles to me?) With school and a bunch of stuff going on lately I just don't have the time (or gas money) to go out there. Me and a few friends might pitch in and head up there sometime though.
Just curious, where do you live? I didn't know you lived in the area.

And thanks everyone else. I just hope I can save my money. :P

lad - 10-1-2011 at 07:32 PM

Save some KFC grease for your bearings! :duh:

kiteetik - 10-1-2011 at 08:33 PM

i live on the east side off wheeling--i cut my teeth out at maumee bay--there are some guys from red sky that go out there too......

ripsessionkites - 10-1-2011 at 09:47 PM

i love fried chicken!!!

congrads

XdisasterXdrewX - 11-1-2011 at 04:37 AM

ill make sure I steal a few pieces everyday and ill send everyone some. haha

@kitetik
Yeah, Mark (RedSky), and Ryan Owens were my lesson guys. I almost feel as if everything that I learned at my lesson was a waist because when we went to fill up my kite, 4 of the valves wouldn't hold. Pretty much ruined everything that I saved for. Oh well, my fault for using GayBay.

Feyd - 11-1-2011 at 12:45 PM

Man, you could probably make a killing here doing dirty kite/fried chicken deals. Rip has a substantial amout of kites and he's already disclosed he's lust for the fried greasy chicken goodness.

I'm just sayin...;-)

Of course the whole transport of fried foul across the border could be illegal. Smuggling fried chicken in a body cavity other than one's belly doesn't make it so appealing afterall.

I'm just sayin'.

Todd - 11-1-2011 at 01:19 PM

I think I know where I'm going for dinner tonight MMmmmm mm good

Congratulations on the job :thumbup:

erratic winds - 11-1-2011 at 02:32 PM

Props for getting a job! I know KFC ain't too impressive but work is work! Do your best!

And when you're hating the job and the customers, just remember, every piece of chicken sold is one more step towards a new kite.

kiteetik - 11-1-2011 at 03:02 PM

hey drew!! you missed an awesome snowkiting session this afternoon--im dead tired, but totally stoked!! btw, i'll sell you a 5meter for 800 pieces of chicken, and since were in the same city, you dont have to worry bout getting caught at the border:smilegrin:

XdisasterXdrewX - 11-1-2011 at 08:26 PM

hahaha I was actually thinking about going up there today but the roads were just WAY too bad. And since i dont have a snowboard I don't think i'll be up there until the snow melts :(

PS. Do you see the RedSky guys up there very much?
and if so, do you think you could give them the lines/handles so I could pick them up from their shop?

kiteetik - 12-1-2011 at 01:33 AM

i was at the soccer field on starr extension --i didnt use a board today--i just had an awesome scud session with some nice long ones and i didnt even fall once--i found some handles today, and i can get some lines together --next time im near central, i'll drop them off at red sky--i want another board anyways..... and finally, no, i dont see the red sky boys out much in winter--i think they're mainly water dudes.......

rocfighter - 12-1-2011 at 05:18 AM

I'm thinking you'll do well. My ex-father-in-law has been out of work for 2 years because he won't take a pay cut! I say a cut from nothing?
I give you credit for taking this job. It's a sign of strength and will power. And save all your change for kites!

XdisasterXdrewX - 12-1-2011 at 05:56 AM

@rocfighter
Oh believe me, ive already started a change jar and I'm starting to put all of my change (even quarters) into it.

@kiteetik
What kite did you use?
Were you out there during the snow cause that would of been CRAZY!

rocfighter - 12-1-2011 at 06:20 AM

Heres a little insperation for you.
When my oldest was born I started a change jar. Every day i threw all the change from my pocket in. 6 years later we took a 5 day trip to disney world on that change bucket. Over a thousand dollars in there. Yeah it was a big bucket!!
I just cashed in my latest buckets, about 3 years worth. About $1,500.00 Woo Hoo!

If that franchise is doing well (probably is), pay attention to how it is run. When I was in high school I worked a stint at the local Mickey Dee's. That place was practically printing money. A lot of valuable business lessons were etched into my mind there. Later, in my career at my own company, I used a lot of stories and anecdotes from there when training my own staff in customer service and quality control.

It was worth coming home every night smelling like a Big Mac.

kiteetik - 12-1-2011 at 08:36 AM

@ disasterdrew-i was using a 5m pansh ace--and yes,it was snowing like crazy when i was out there--it was sheer madness, but that's how i roll.......

XdisasterXdrewX - 12-1-2011 at 02:45 PM

@rocfighter
Wow, thats INSANE. Who needs a car or a house when you can just get a kite? haha

@acampbell
Yeah, I have thought about opening my own restaurant someday and that stuff could really come in handy.
The only problem is that I found out today that I have something scheduled on the same day that I have training and they are both really important. I asked if I could go to training on a different day and he said he would see when the next one was and give me a call. I'm sure they could find someone else to take my spot so I'm just hoping that he can reschedule me or something...
:/

@Kiteetik
hahaha I really wish I could of went up there. Hopefully I can meet you up there sometime. I need to get me my own board first.

When bucket is 1/2 full, take to bank and deposit in interest-bearing account...... that ~1500 could have been ~2000+

XdisasterXdrewX - 12-1-2011 at 07:40 PM

nevermind, he gave me a call and let me know that everything is still on.
I should probably start picking out the kite that I want to buy in 2 years lol
