It's a standard four-line control bar by Peter Lynn for fixed bridle kites. Anyone want mine? Almost brand new... I "flew" a kite on it once, and now
it's just in my room collecting dust. Looks great, nice weight, very comfy to hold. If you want something to tinker with, it'd be good for modifying.
Retails for $55-60 or so, I'll let it go for $40. I am in desperate need of a few extra bucks. Here's a pic I just took.

Would this work with my 6m Ace?
I don't really know alot about bars and how they work
I found out that a bar for an inflatable kite wont work with mine so I'm assuming that this bar is made specifically for what I need?

This is a bar made specifically for fixed bridle foils, like the Ace. As far as I know, this will work just fine with it. Any input from anyone who
has tried a 6m Ace on a bar would be great!!

i flew an ozone flow 5m on a bar, and its a MUCH more tame kite than a 6m ace, and i didnt have nearly the control or confidence i had with
handles......considering the snatchiness of an ace, i would not fly it on a bar...... i dont want to seem as if i am trying to squash your sale, i am
merely stating an opinion based on experience.......
Seanny - 14-1-2011 at 08:11 AM
Oh for sure. I would not sell it to anyone if I didn't think they'd be happy with it. FB kites in general tend to fly better on handles. What was
mainly going through my head about this bar was it'd be good to modify if anyone wanted to toy with the idea of making a depower or crossover bar. The
advantage to having a bar with any kite though, is it's easier to do things with one hand... I don't know how much that matters. It's a nice piece of
equipment, though.

seanny-- i was thinking along the same lines--you could mod it for depower.....i think there's someone who was looking for bar and lines cheap, maybe
this could work for him.......
Seanny - 14-1-2011 at 11:24 AM
Really? I seriously need to sell this. I'm desperate for a few extra bucks. I think we've all been here before. I'm bleeding dry. $40 + shipping...

Nobody looking for something new to play with? :P
mdntdncr - 15-1-2011 at 06:24 PM
I'm interested in the mod project, but it's a touch expensive as a toy if I've nothing to compare it to in order to work on the mod.

Hmmmm, well I'd imagine that you would just have to take off the front line leaders, drill a hole in the middle, then put all the guts in it it's 55cm, which is a nice size for just about any kite. If you don't want to make a
depower bar, you could probably convert it to a crossover bar rather easily. $35 + shipping?
Seanny - 16-1-2011 at 11:37 AM
No longer for sale... I need this.
Kamikuza - 16-1-2011 at 05:33 PM
I wouldn't drill a hole in the middle - probably a hollow tube and you'll need some kind of guide for the depower line ... and you risk weakening the
tube, drilling holes.
I've got some left-overs from an old Wipika bar, that has a depower hole thing that clamps around the bar - give me your address and I'll get it in
the post ... somehow
Seanny - 16-1-2011 at 05:34 PM
I already drilled it. It's a clean hole, straight through, nothing for a line to snag on. But after about 5 people telling me this is a great idea, I
now have 5 more people telling me it's not. I just want to fly my freakin' kite. -.-

Hey! It's not funny! ...Okay. Well it kind of is. But it's also very frustrating

How is your project going...? Any pics..?
rocfighter - 25-1-2011 at 06:27 AM
Seany what meterial is the bar made of? Is it hollow or solid? This all matters in how safe this will be. Solid wood or composit it may still hold up
to the pressure.
Myself I would take it apart and measure the diameter and find a metel tube that will press over it tightly. And drill a hole slightly larger in the
tube and file the edges smooth. (of course I would drill it before putting it on) but I'm sure you knew this!
If it is hollow I'd be nervous without using some sort of a grommit through the hole to support the integrity of the tube. Sounds like a big job.
Good luck.

I have the bar drilled and ready to go, but I now have several other bars which were sent to me... I just have to check the mail. Feyd sent a
Slingshot Profire 60 cm which I'll probably use. I also have a complete Slingshot c kite bar that I got stuck with... seeing as it's a c kite bar,
I'll likely have to replace the depower line and chicken loop with a longer one. That shouldn't be a problem. As far as collective parts go
(everything NOT including the c kite bar complete), I have three bars (including the one I drilled, I don't think I'll be using that), two chicken
loops, a trim strap (hasn't come in the mail yet... I'll have to check), and leader lines. Once I really make something out of this I'll be sure to
post pictures I'm just not sure what to do with the Slingshot c kite bar. I
didn't mean to get stuck with it... but I did kind of need the flying lines it came with...
