Hi all,
I am thinking of buying a 5.5m PKD buster, does anyone have any reviews / knowledge of how the kite performs?...
I'm going to be using it for kiteboarding and jumping mainly, also when i can afford one, buggying.

Buster is a great little kite. The sail is great, but the bridle and lineset are lacking. As with any kite, you can jump with them, but they are not
designed as jumping kites. If you want to jump, you really need to look at a kite that is made to produce lift. Just about anything in the de-power
line, or you basically have 3 choices.
Flexifoil - Blade 3 (or 2 or 1 if your buying used)
Ozone - Riot
Hq - Crossfire
People get hurt jumping because they use improper equipment. They use a kite not designed to make lift, then they have no parachute effect once the
kite stops moving forward.
Buster will be a good kite, just not recommended for jumping. Although you can jump with it.
Hope this helps.

heya mate, i bought my buster 5.5 as a second kite and i think its a fantasic kite, but as scoopy says i wouldn't say its a gd lift kite. the kite is
more suited to speed runs with its shape but ultimatley does produce lift in the right wind. the build quality i would say i pretty descent but as you
may read the lines that come with the kite are a bit pants so would recomend some flexi or PL lines. the fact the kite has adjustable bridles allowing
you to change the way the kite flys is an intesting touch to experiment with.
all in all i would have to say if your buying this kite there much more suited to a beach wind enviroment (along with every other kite) but they don't
seem to handle gust brilliantly and they tend to luff and fold on its self, but is still a wkd kite for the price.
if you can deffinatly try to fly 1 before you make your mind. If you can aswell check out the other kites spooky mentioned.
cheers, angus

Thanks for that info all, much appreciated.
I actually bought a 5.5 buster at the weekend, nice 'n' cheap, brand new. So am not worried if the kite is a bit poor for what i'm using it for at the
moment. If push comes to shove then I shall sell it in time, but i suppose in the mean time i shalll have a ball trying it out. Much appreciate info
about the lines as well
Have decided agaist trying this jumping stuff for the time being, as i'd rather get used to the kite.
Have also taken on board what you both said in this post and shall look at buying some of the kites that Scoopy mentioned (spooky to Ginger_boarder,
lol. Not tired)
Cheers guys.
