Well my 3.5m Rebble has finally arrived :-) So i have my first 4line kite to learn and train with. I know its "only" 3.5m to you guys, but oh my god i
unpacked it in my small apartment lounge and i was like "blimey its huge!" :shocked2:
Anyhow, i also bought some new PL Kite Killers last week and am ready to setup my new (2nd hand) kite ready for my first adventure into 4line flying,
a newbie question if i can please..
How and indeed where do i correctly attach the kite killers to the controls? I have linked to a photo below as i couldn't seem to get attached photos
to work last time..
The brake lines have 3 knots tied in them and also have a red loop on the handles (Ozone handles) Do i attach the kite killers to the red loop? Or on
one of the knots up the brake line? And.... as the killers have a huge fabric loop on the end of them what's the best way to attach them please? [i
circled the 3 knots as wasnt clear in pic)
Really appreciate your advice guys, looking forward to getting out at the weekend with this if the wind plays ball..
PS: any tips on keeping bridle lines tidy and tangle free? The rebble doesn't seem to have Velcro tabs, and i already getting in a bit of a tangle

do not put it on the loops.On the brake leaders is where it will go. the knot all the way at the end is for your brake lines. you want to larkshead
the KKs between the other 2 knots. This will flag it out in an emergency,hopefully!. Take it easy with what wind you fly it in.You wouldn't believe
the difference that5 mph makes. If you need any help, come talk to us.The PKF has alot of friendly,helpful peeps w/ a passion for the sport. Hope

Euro,do you know how to make those interlocking loops people sometimes put in rope to keep it from tangling?That is what I do w/ my racekites.They

yes ,just don't tighten the loops too much. and by fabric ,I'm guessing it is thin webbing like material.That will larkshead just fine. I just

LarS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s Head the kite killers around the brake lines ...
... the 'proper' way is to have a knot at the end of the leaders, near where the flying lines attach to ensure maximum difference in power and brake
lines when the kite is dropped to killers but I find some KS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s are too short and either affect the lines when turning or are so short
you can't scratch your nose without the kite turning.
So I LarS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s Head them onto the brake leader lines and let them slide. They end up near the handle but the kite is pretty much depowered
by then anyway ... just be prepared for them to pull a bit or to rip them off if the pooh hits the fan.

Oh and ... packing up is an art you just kinda learn.
Notice in the vid that the kite is staked - that helps. A 3.5m you should be able to fold it up easy - tips to center, bridle in the middle then fold
it up and put it in the bag. Then you can either para-pack (stuff the lines in the bag - seriously, it works) or wrap lines around the handles. There

As you see , a 3.5 isn't exactly small. You have a true power kite there. A very good choice to get started !
You will eventually be able to fly that kite into some very high winds but take it easy at 1st. Even those of us that fly often are most likely to
injure ourselves with small kites and big wind. Things happen fast in those conditions .
Please wear a helmet and have FUN !!!!
For packing, get a habit and do it the same every time. Most people hold in left hand , roll on clockwise and off counter clockwise.

Tie another overhabnd knot about and inch away from the 3'rd brake leader knot closest to the handle. Get two pieces of leader line about 5-6" long.
Double it up and tie an overhand or figure-8 knot at the end to make a pigtail loop. Larkshead these beteen the two close knots on your brake leader.
Then larkshead the loops on your kitekillers to the pigtail.
Now the KS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s won't slide toward the handle, and you can take them off without detaching the brake lines. Depends on the kite size and
handle length, but I've found on my Ozone handles if the KS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s are up close to the handle, there's not enough brake to kill the kite in
high winds. You need that extra few inches out on the leader to totally kill the kite.

I will post some pics of me work when i sort it out, going to take it into work tomorrow (spare empty sports hall) and lay it all out and familiarise
with the lines etc and packign it, before i get out in the wind..
