I am wondering what people think makes a kite a good buggy kite. I am ready for a new/used 3m and I am a little confused.
I would want a non liftie kite as well as one that flew fast through the window. Am I off on these assumptions. I have a profoil 3.5 now and it
folds continually at the edge of the window. Drives me nuts. But its fast...
I also have a 5m buster 3 and I like it except its seems a little slow.
Thanks for the help.

Yes, your thinking is sound.
The Peter Lynn Viper is purpose built with these traits in mind. Also Flexifoil Rage is in roughly the same class.
Next up is the PL Reactor II and then the Flexi Blurr. The RII takes a bit more finesse but rewards you with good speed and excellent upwind
abilities. PKD Century, too.
Next up are the race kites.

I'm using the 2.5 and 3.5 Blurrs and love the performance and huge range with lots of user friendly pull.

I own an Ozone Cult 3.5 am totally in awe of this kite.
Is a pearler, loves to be worked can be downlooped into turns relatively safely.
One must not be complacent with this kite as I have had a good OBE when I downlooped during a loopy gust.
Once going well it likes to sit at the edge and not luff.

what makes a good buggy kite? depends on your style and skill level--personally, i like to fly overpowered, and i have very good control, so blades are
no problem and the boost i get at times is exhilarating--there are other times when i just want to go for a nice cruise, then any kite will do

You sort of have 3 choices .
Race, freestyle or cruise.
Each has it's own good and bad points.
You need to decide what you want the kite to do.

hmmm, let's see. Fast through the window.....non lifty....let's have one that doesn't bow-tie easily. Think I've just described the Ozone Method.
Check out the vid of the 6.5m in the reviews thread. Damn good buggy kite in 7-14 knots. 10-18 knots, I'd be thinking the 5m. The 4m needs 15 knots
+
The Method is not as powerful or as explosive as the Century 2 but I find it much easier to fly than the Century. Mind you, I don't fly race kites or
high aspect stuff much so I'm not very good at flying that sort of thing. Throw any kite up in a decent wind and it will lift you. I've been lifted
out of my seat (not by much) by the Apex 2, Access XC and Beamer 4m - All NON lifty kites.
Slide to scrub off some speed then bring the kite up slowly for the turn - seems to work pretty well so far.....
I've heard from one person who owns both Methods and Blurrs that he's now going to sell all his Blurrs.....
I've also heard very good things about the Peter Lynn Core.

Those are same reasons why I picked up my Vipers. I wish I had started with them years ago, stable , predictable , fast. You might be at the ability
to handle next level up , PL and HQ offer buggy kites and the reports and descriptions tend to be pretty accurate.
