On the Ivanpah, I dispensed with the bent formed clamp mount and took a single piece of 1/8" by 3/4" aluminum and drilled/ tapped/ screwed it straight
to the down-tube with stainless 10-28 screws. Screwed a piece or 3/4" dowel to it (dipped in varnish first) to facilitate use of the Garmin
handlebar mount.

zip ties and/or a big velcro/elastic band at west marine. couple different sizes as well.
this mount is really flexible and can be attached to anything
I have the ram mount for my earthmate and it is the business. gps snaps in with authority. You couldn't sling the unit out of the mount in a fighter
jet or Rally car.kiteboyza - 3-2-2011 at 02:36 PM
So If I get the Ram mount, how do I attach that to the buggy?rocfighter - 7-2-2011 at 05:41 AM
I have the Popeye mount. Real nice but to shiny for me
Just kidding Carl if your reading It's great.BeamerBob - 7-2-2011 at 07:32 AM
You would drill 2 holes through the downtube and use machine screws. The ram mount has recesses for the nuts, so you just tighten up the screws into
the locknuts and snap in the gps.kitemaker4 - 2-3-2011 at 11:58 AM
My gps holder just uses velcro to attach to the buggy. No altering the buggy in any way.

Dagon- check your local wally world- i just picked up(last night) a soft case for a triton gps (my etrex fits perfectly) it is fabric and i just hot
cut out the spot where the screen is and then zip tied it to the down tube. $7.50, and can just zip it in or zip it out. looks smiliar to susans-
minus the plastic front.
