new old stock North Toro 12 meter NEW PRICE

speleopower - 6-2-2011 at 09:07 AM

New never flown older North Toro 12 meter I'll sell it for $100 shipped the US. It comes with new lines, bag and a North bar
Here is a picture of it.

It needs new bladders.
Kite is brand new never flown and doesn't look like it's ever been out of the bag 12 meter North Toro kite. It has a brand new North bar and lines as well.

I'm thinking it's a 2002 or 2003 model but I don't know.

2002-2003 old tech, yeah 150$ would be a good price for a friend due to age. Would not recommend selling to a complete newb, someone who has or will get a lesson only. Your buddy needs to know they're getting a deal, though. Truthfully the materials and bar and lines could be sold for a higher price, but the older technology of the safety systems is why I would sell it for so cheap.

But proper respect to ya for getting another person into the sport, best of luck!

I'm not sure of the age of the kite but it looks similar to my North Toro 6 meter I got in 2002.

The cool thing is the kite is brand new never inflated or taken out of the bag until last week when I got it.

Sometimes bladders can be a problem even if the kite is like new..I think they degrade some over time even if not in use.

SL is totally correct, some of the glue that is used to attach valves to the bladder can degrade over time, it's a weak-point of any old kite regardless of use....but also a quick fix!

The 12 had 3 dead strut bladders and the leading edge bladder was toast!!!

I tried to inflate my other 2 inflatos and the 4 meter had all dead bladders and my 6.2 had 3 dead bladders!!!

I did send an e-mail the the Kitebladder guy here in Florida to see what it would cost to get new ones.

I figured time would kill the bladders since they are all so delicate.

I hate LEI kites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love LEI kites, I just hate bladders and valves!

Hi speleopower,

Just an idea - keep the bar, lines, and bag and sell them for a good price. I'll take the kite and cover shipping and a few extra $ (I need the skin/fabric only - no bladders). See details here - http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=12907.

But I'm not disappointed if you decide against my idea - always better to have a kite still flying vs. cutting it in pieces

Cheers,
Jens

i bought a collage of gear that included a complete kite setup. kite was used once like 7 years ago! bladders just crumpled. bar /lines good to go!

I am working on getting new bladders for the 12 and flying it a couple of times before selling it unless someone here wants it for $150 plus shipping as is?
My buddy here didn't want it. Says it's not new enough and not like the other kites he sees on the water. Oh well. I'm sure it's a good flying kite just not a 2011 model.
