WBB Spring 2011 Role Call!

Even though April seems so far away, I would really like to get a role call on those that either are attending or have plans on attending. I ask now because I need a rough number for insurance purposes. We tried to get the insurance for the last bash, but there just wasn't enough time. I hope we all agree that the insurance is still important as the bash continues to grow. The more that participate in the insurance, the less the cost.

As well as all the usual great times, there are going to be a few great surprises. I will let you in on those as we get closer to the bash. I hope to see everyone soon! If you know someone that hasn't been on in a while because they are busy Kite Skiing LOL let them know things are happening so they can all be aware.

Put me in the planing on it and hopeful category. The wife has been on board/supportive of the trip. But, recent developments (yesterday) make me say, "I hope so".

It will be worth the drive just for the flyjump clinic. (i am right about this, correct?)

Looking forward to absorbing as much as I can. Now, about that weather...

Me and my boy are there for sure. He can't wait and keeps asking "when is WWBB?". Glad to see he's taking a liking to kiting. Look like Deans buggy ride put the spark in him last fall :thumbup:

Labrat, yes , Adam will be putting on a clinic, I may even ask if he can do one Fri, and one Sat. I will update that once I talk with him again, should be in the next day or so.

Jim, glad you guys will be making it down. Also glad to hear your son will be flying and riding! It's going to be a blast!

The Kidd and I will be there flying and riding. Sandy will be there enjoying the place. And I think even my parents are planning to stop in.

chuddy, youll learn so fast riding on a beach in clean wind. it's gonna be so much fun out there. baby that thumb! I had a dream today that I rolled my car over and snapped my wrist putting the bone through my skin. I kept thinking dang....how am I gonna fly with my arm like this lol

I'll be there. Pretty sure Frathouse will be as well. We might even have a guest appearance from a certain asian Flysurfer flyer.. (no garauntees on that one though, he keeps talking about it, but I dont know for sure yet).

prodigy has to stay in school those days- he is heading to florida the following week for 10 days so is already missing enough- He has got a rough life:lol: Although did get him out on saturday on the five meter apex and he had a great day had one intentional jump and went about 5-6 feet in the air and landed nice and soft (static no board) but i think it helped build a lot more confidence. I am thinking of taking him up to ww first weekend in march- interested?

Hey labrat! If you go to the WBB posting about the shalimar resort, the info for the resort is right there. There is no registration as of yet. The date is April 15th thru the 17th. Some of us head over a couple of days early, we will be there Tues night or fist thing Wed morning. You are going to have a blast!

Trying to post pic of new home brew speed buggy.
last thee pics in the gallery two of me in the buggy and one of the front end. The axel is an airplane wing strut , side rails sailboat booms, 16"bicycle front fork, Razor scooter fork mount, misc angle and flat aluminum,flying saucer wheel covers. I hope it goes as good as it looks
WBB smooth winds and smooth sand would be nice.

Hey snowspider, looks pretty fast! Might be a runway screamer! We should try to get together sometime when the wind is predicted from WNW or SSE for a speed run on the tarmac at Duflo's airfield. Wind is sometimes kind of goofy there, trees on one side, hangars/buildings on the other, but rolling resistance is minimal. Hoping to get to Wildwood this time. I miss that beach.

Seashore campground is very close , stayed there last fall , paved roads , first time I'd seen that in a campground.

Teklife or any one else on the cheap ,I'm staying at Seashore campground fri, sat, sun. $25 per day on your own site or $3 per guest on mine, take your pick. I've got an extra 8x8 tent and cot , welcome to it.

ok so back Axle is back up and rolling. Parts for the front wheel are on order, hope they get hear before Friday.
The seat is in the Shop getting new webbing, and to top it all off I'l be working out of town all week. It will be a mad dash to grab every thing and hit the road Friday. Hears to the plan Wish me luck.

Looking at the weather... seems Thurs/Fri have light winds and sun while Sat/Sun show storms and gusty stuff.

Anyone heard anything different?

Thinking if this is the case, we'll head up a day early and get down there on Wed night instead of Thurs.

Looking at predictions this early is not really all that accurate. I'd wait until tomorrow and if Wednesday looks good, then go based on that, not necessarily what the weekend looks like. Weather changes very rapidly, not to mention we have seen days with predicted rain, and not a drop fell... Up to you. :)

getting really excited. i will bring my homemade kombucha, krauts/kimchi's and other fermented foods as yummy and nutritious condiments for the daily cookouts.

Never really had a "drag race" officially! Most of the speed depends on the amount of people that are also at the beach not buggying.

So I pulled out my MBS comp 90 mountain board today because I had a slow leaky tube. I swapped out the tube no big deal. I started checking out the other wheels and noticed one that looked like it was ready to blow up. Some how I managed to break a bunch of the interlock pieces that hold the hub together. :( I guess I won't be landboarding this weekend at the bash. Good thing I've got a buggy and boards for the water :).

Moral to the story CHECK YOUR GEAR might save your ankle and chance to ride at the bash!

I've never kited with the DS, so we'll all be learning the ropes. Anyone want a try, just grab it.

I'll have a kitewing also, but there may not be enough wind.

Btw, someone from the Nahant Crew let me borrow a pair of off road skates last fall. I've tried them once with poor results on our local, not so packed sand beach. They might work better on Wildwood sand...or a paved lot.
I'll have them and Coyote skates in the bag @ WW.
