I just finished making some new compact sticks for my 10m Venom..
I used some aluminum tent pole sections that I got from Mountain Equiptment Co-op
The pole sections look to be the exact same as the PeterLynn stock sticks only yellow
The best part.... they cost me $15

Actually kind of like the yellow from a visibility standpoint. Is that just a vinyl endcap on it? Would be interested in seeing how you get along
with them.

I got the endcaps from a local hardware store 15cents each
they are a tad thicker then stock.
I put one on a scrap piece of pole and smashed it on the floor 10-15 times.. still good to go
I cut 4 small pieces of fiberglass tent pole and glued them in the ends. I was going to use a wood dowel but the fiberglass was a near perfect fit.
I can't see PeterLynn making some new type of special pole
for their sticks.. I bet they get them from the same place that makes these..
For $15 it's worth the risk to find out.

Might be a solution for the dodgy endcap problem ... nice job!

I spotted some of these tent poles on the curb for trash pickup a few months ago. Same size and all.

aluminum corrodes near salt water and will turn your collapsable poles into one piece-- permanently. make sure you take them apart occasionally...
