Looking_Up - 22-2-2011 at 09:08 AM

I am going to try and attend this year but only for the weekend I was wondering if I could rent a buggy and Mabee get a ride from the airport on Thursday late or Friday early
Is camping allowed
Any info will be greatly appreciated
If I needed to ship anything what would I need to do
I need to fly into Vegas right

Good to have you even for a little bit! I am bringing too many buggies...5 I think? Look for the flying Gumby or ask at check-in. As far as shipping, Kent @ awindofchange might be able to help accept packages?

We have a staging area for any gear that needs to be shipped into Vegas. Just let me know what you are sending and we will watch for it and hold it for you until you get here. We can also drop your packages off at UPS/USPS/FedEx when you leave. All packaging and postage must be paid for before the packages can be shipped back out.

You can pick the gear up at our store when you arrive. You can send the gear anytime.

deanaoxo - 22-2-2011 at 04:50 PM

Don't take a taxi, there is already a ride share thread on here. Find it, and someone will probably be happy to give you a ride.

If you haven't got one by the week before the event, let me know.

For sure don't need to rent a car!

Maria and I took a Limo one year from LAS to Primm, because it was only 30mins to get there, they offered to drive us back to LAS for FREE.

i think we paid only $50 incl. gratuity in the Sedan ... took my buggy (in golf bag, no rims/tires) + 2 Luggage + 2 Full Size Kitebags (similar size to the PL Pro Bag).

something like a Taxi worked out to $75 for one way.

Granted this will only be my second trip, with that said. Try not to limit yourself to only two kites. I know with flying space is a premium, but we all know that the kite you need is the one sitting back at home in the garage. Last year, if you didn't have a big wing prior to 3:00 pm, you sat around in your 3 wheel lawn chair. Not such a bad thing though. Good time BS'in with everyone, when Rip was stuck a mile out on the lake bed with no wind!

Craig Sparkes - 24-2-2011 at 04:34 AM

We will have 3 spare buggies you are welcome to use 1 of!

-mj- - 15-3-2011 at 02:46 PM

We'll have kites in all shapes, forms and sizes. find the PL tent and we'll hook you up no problem.

Don't bring your LEI, the playa tends to eat blimps.... my mate learned this last year, and still brought it back for a recent photo shoot on an adjoining Playa. If you need kites just stop by any of the company teams (HQ, Flexifoil, Peter Lynn, etc...) pretty sure there will be more than enough for you to borrow. I know I will be driving over with about 10 kites myself.... hard to fly all of those at the same time! If anything, chase down Craig Sparkes and hit him over the head with a rubber chicken and say 'that kite is mine!' and see what happens. :)

BeamerBob - 15-3-2011 at 03:30 PM

Is this a trick to get him to have to do pushups?

mj I'd like to fly one of those plain purple arc kites if that's ok? That old prototype we've seen on a few videos would be perfect. I promise to bring it back! :smilegrin:
