Monday evening packing up my gear two guys , one with huge camera the other with pen and note pad , come running up to me ,"we heard on the scanner a
parachutist had landed on the lake" I tell them about the kite and the sled, "So its strapped to your back and it flys you arround?" no it hooks here
and I fly it like a kite "So it lifts you up and you fly back and forth?" no I dont really want to get lifted with 35# of sled hanging off my butt "So
if it lifted you, how far could you fly" Christ I thought I was talking to Larry King!
I got their cards and will be setting up an appt for a demonstration .
A couple of years ago I got a visit from the park ranger then the local ice rescue then the local cop and then a county helicopter fly by ,some one
with bad eyes reported kids on the lake.
Another local kiter got a flood light helicopter escort off the lake , he had stayed out past dark flying.
Any other good stories?

I had a park ranger come out to me when 5 of us were flying in a local field one day. She came running up to me all disgruntled like and she barked
at me and asked if I had a permit.....A PERMIT TO FLY A KITE. the whole time i was trying to play it cool and explain to her that earlier the same
year another park ranger asked me to do a demo for a kids camp. While i was trying to tone it down Invertedforce was screaming around 7 feet in the
air. I thought it was going to blow the whole thing. fortunatly our buddy bruce lynx69 got ahold of the director of the parks board and made sure we
had permission to be out there.
If we were going to have to appear in front of the parks board to get written permission to fly our kites, I was going to buy one of those 1 dollar
spider man kites to take with me haha

Didnt happen to me, but a buddy of mine got escorted off the lawn in front of the washington monumuent by the secret service... Apparently they
thought he had tried to parachute in (was flying an 11m Neo at the time). He was landboarding when they "came out of nowhere". Took his ssn down and
all his contact information.
His comment to me was that he still flies there, just not depower kites...
