Goggle lens colors?

geokite - 24-2-2011 at 07:07 AM

Looking at getting some ski style goggles to fit over my full face helmet. Any recommendations on lens color? I'm looking at http://www.amazon.com/Zeal-Optics-Detonator-Spherical-Photoc... , but all they have is the yellow-rose brown color. Recommended? Thanks

Edit: These would be for the dry lake bed

Geo, if that lens is the same as the lens in my Zeal Transcends it will work awesome!

I've had various light sensitive lense of the years riding DH bikes. You're in the woods one second in low light then pinning it across a open slope in bright light back into the woods. SOme work some not so much.

This is by far the best photochromatic lense I've ever used. Works in bright light on snow and works well after sunset.

Don't let the color fool ya. It gets very dark and still pulls off high contrast vision.

Ill be using the Recon this Nabx, in the past I had Spy and Oakley Transations. No complains from me.

So Feyd, the yellow to rose brown would be ok for the dry lake bed? I've never liked sunglasses that were not grey for the bright conditions of the lake bed, so I'm leery. But if they go dark enough, rose brown might work. They yellow for low light conditions is ideal; I have some yellow lenses that make mtn biking at dusk alot better. Thanks for your advice.

i had one pair of sunglasses and they were Polarized, and they worked well from dawn to dusk at NABX.

I dont notice the rose colour that much in my Zeal / Recons. The shade change happens very quickly i guess to notice. The Oakleys seem to take a little longer.
