8m Flysurfer Pulse2

stinkyskate - 27-2-2011 at 08:16 PM

It's in good shape. I bought it new and haven't used it much (twice on water, once snow, less than 10 times with buggy.) This kite was only flown by experienced kiters and has never been subject to a beginner's beating. It includes the leash (as in video) and bag. Looking for $600 + shipping from WA state.

If I didn't already have one I would be all over this. Sweet deal on an awesome kite.

kitedelight - 1-3-2011 at 11:36 PM

ooohhhh. so tempting...can't do it now though.
Someone is gonna get a nice kite at a very good price.

gabe - 2-3-2011 at 12:13 PM

Unfortunately I can not be that lucky kiter.

Zirbmonkey - 2-3-2011 at 01:04 PM

acartier: I was wondering about your experience between riding the Pusle 13 and Pulse2 8. Which do you get more use of, and which do you prefer to fly independant of wind conditions?

Sadly I can't afford an additional $600 on kites right now, but I keep clicking on this thread... It's taunting me :p

Yes it is. Maybe when the Tax refunds come in someone will get themselves a nice flying kite!

Goz - 8-3-2011 at 03:17 PM

I'm interested, been looking for an 8m to go with my 12m Speed3

Does it have FDS fitted?

Are you willing to ship to Australia?

stetson05 - 8-3-2011 at 11:27 PM

I saw it flown today. It has better bottom end than my 8m Neo

pokitetrash - 9-3-2011 at 08:58 AM

I know nothing about FS other than they look really cool flying so that sells me alot of kites! So, forgive my ignorance--my only depower experience is an old Ozone Frenzy and the 2 Phantoms I now have:

1) Whats the wind range for this 8m?
2) How does it handle inland gusts? (I hate getting lofted...I'm too old for that)
3) Would you recommend it for buggying? ( I see you have buggied with it..)
4) The vid shows bar & lines, your description doesn't say RTF, Is it RTF?

Thanks!

Even though I'm not the seller, I can answer this part! Yes, it's a RTF package, flysurfer bar and lines are not designed to be separated from the kite.

Puse2 at Flysurfer

Flysurfer shows it works from 5-45kts with ideal between 20-35 kts. I think 30kts is definitely the upper end for me on water and 25kts would probably be tops buggying (average windspeeds.)
It will fly in less than 10kts but personally I want 15 for buggying to be exciting.
Windrange w/ buggy really depends on weight/riding surface/experience/buggy/etc

The depower is much better than any other foil I've used, approaching inflatable bow/sle kites. Lofting shouldn't be an issue.

Yes! If you like buggying with a bar. I pulled it out last night and rode the buggy. It sets up in seconds and is super easy to launch and land by yourself. It's got most of the safety of an inflatable but a whole lot more convenient.
That said, it's a bit nice for just buggying with. It's also great for water and snow. Not that I want to discourage you from buying it but, if all you're ever going to do is buggy, you could get away with a lot less kite.
This kite has a lower aspect ratio and less performance than some foils, e.g. Speed. Theoretically won't go up wind as well and it doesn't boost as big. It does turn much tighter and is a lot more fun to fly and ride, IMO.

4) The vid shows bar & lines

As noted, Flysurfer's will always come with their bar and lines. I'm also including the leash (which is one slick piece of innovation, bravo Flysurfer!) and the backpack.

Pulse2 is a lot like an Outlaw, only closed cell.
In some ways, I kind of wish I had started with those instead of the two outlaws I have now. I think the Outlaws might be cheaper brand new, not positive.

The only reason I bring this up, is that if ALL you EVER plan on doing is land based riding, you might find a better deal for something that is open cell. However... If you ever consider crossing over into the water, then this kite is an awesome steal. It won't jump as big as the Psychos or Speeds, but it will get you started very nicely.

:)

pokitetrash - 9-3-2011 at 03:16 PM

So it sounds like its comperable to my Phantom 12 maybe? I ride it and love it at 15kn.

kitedelight - 9-3-2011 at 04:19 PM

thought I would chime in for 2 points..

nice plus of closed cell is that they keep there shape better than open cell when big mistakes are made.

of the current closed cell kites FS makes, I understand the pulse is the most forgiving to fly, except the new viron kite now.

you won't regret it. I can only really compare to the 8m Neo and I would say it has better bottom end and goes up wind better.

although it might be that his bottom end is smaller than my bottom end. It takes a lot more power to move my ... buggy

Stetson05 -- We must be riding the same style buggy:yes:!

Thanks Stinkyskate!

ragden - 10-3-2011 at 05:11 AM

Just so you know, this is more of a high-wind kite. Probably in the sweet spot between 15-25mph in wind. That would be my guess with my weight. If you weigh more than I do, then move that up...

Yup, thats what I figured. I am on the hunt for a 9 Phantom for that range (Get in line right?) so this will do what I want.

Still want the 9 though!

Pulse is in the House! Thanks Stinkyskate! Looks as great as advertised! Now, where's the wind?

Only one thing... Do all FS come with the ginormous bag? I mean really! Not complaining--I could put both my phantoms in their bags in this bag WITH the FS ...

 For a good seller & good feller.

ragden - 22-3-2011 at 04:43 AM

Yes... amusing as it is.. ALL Flysurfer kites come in the same size bag....

AD72 - 22-3-2011 at 07:07 AM

I have my 10 and 7 in the same bag with bars. Keep the zippers clean. They don't do well with salt water.
