Well I think my beloved Windtronic 2 wind meter will finally have to be put to rest.
...but, before I say goodbye, I want to see if there's anyway to fix it.
Just got a brand new battery. Unit comes on with no issues but doesn't register a wind speed. Just stays at zero. Can it be fixed?

How old is it? Believe the warranty is 2 years on the unit. If the electronics powers up fine, I wonder if you toasted the jeweled bearing. On some
anenmometers, the impeller and bearing are user replaceable, but unfortunately not the case for the Windtronic.
If the unit is within the warranty period, I think you have to work through your retailer. If it is out of warranty, you can try seeing what your
recourse is through the Windtronics contact page:

Not sure who the US distributor is for Kaindl, but will keep looking, unless a retailer chimes in first.

Yeah, out of warranty and if memory serves correct, I think I bought it through ebay (online retailer). I told my wife about it and she said, geez you
bought it in late 2006, just go buy another one, but the fixer in me, wants to see if I can fix it first
