Thanks

more looking for specs like aspect ratio and stuff like that

I'm sure there are a lot of technical complications, but from what I can tell, a Montana is more of a high performance snow kite whereas an Access XT is more suited for beginners/people who just want an all around kite that will get them moving.

Just wondering because they are both very close in price was looking at the 10m I think the Montana has a 9.5 they are actually the same price the Montana 12.5 is a little more.

Seanny, hit it on the nose.

Seanny is right in principle but I disagree with the blanket statment that the access is for beginners. Its better suited for beginners because it isn't as lifty but its not a kite you would necessarily outgrow as it has its place and if you fly inland, away from smooth breezes, it will way out perform higher aspect kites like the Montana.

The better description is Montana (like kites) fly faster, produce more vertical lift and fly at the edge of the window so they aren't as stable in crap winds.

Kites like the access are generally slower, produce more horizontal grunt, and fly deeper in the window and are more stable in gusty conditions.

I love my Gin (Montana like) but nothing beats my access in outrgageous or bumpy winds. I would not want a low aspcect kite in low winds and I don't like high aspect kites in high winds.

I think you made the point I was looking for B Roc it was suggested to me to get the Access 10m for the average winds in my area for land kiting but I was looking to find out the differences in the kites. I also am a newbie but want something to keep me grinning for at least a year or the wife will make me live in the shed. I already have a Blaze II 7m would the access 10m have considerably more grunt? I do appreciate everybody's help and opinions so keep em coming

thanks

I think the Montana is more comparable with a Manta in terms of aspect and performance. (it stops being comparable on price!)

The access is great for cruising and I have seen people pick up some decent air miles with them so just because they have less lift doesn't mean they have none! I would guess they compare better with the HQ Apex.

If you want something in between the Acess and the Montana in terms of lift and speed then get a Frenzy.

Been flying one a lot lately and its definately the next thing on my kite wishlist!

The Frenzy is a really nice kite
