Super Moon Saturday March 19 2011

If you have clear skies this weekend it could the prime time to catch a fully lit night session. The moon is supposed to be full and closer to the Earth than anytime in the last 18 years:shocked2:

Yep, yep. My neighbor right down the street has an observatory. If he posts pics of it on his web page, I'll for sure show them to you guys :)

Sounds like a good night to set up a tent and have the first campout of the year. Clear skies means cold :dunno: Oh well.

Canuck...stay tuned. You got me thinking and reports for Edmonton are 50% cloud cover at midnight. Wind 15-27 km/h. Astronomer friend advised me that 1:00 am will be about the brightest.

It'll be a super spur-of-the-moment decision but I'll be sure to document it as best as I can for you.

Well I scored the past 2 nites with sunset/moonrise sessions on the water! I rode last nite 2 miles upwind to ride the slick water behind Real kiteboarding. Tonight, top it off with a session in the waves for 2 hrs!I rode 3 miles upwind and surfed the waves at S-turns! Priceless! The 15m phantom must of looked amazing from shore with orange ball rising!.....................aj

The moon is up and bright here in DE! Cloudless night, and she is a blazin! No wind to speak of so no night ride here!

Saw the moon rise at the beach and was incredible...was on fire, bright orange color at the horizon...and started to lighten up as it rose..the best was when it peeked over the horizon.

Man alive....the 11pm update dropped the wind to 7 knots and we're still cloudy out there......I think I might not make it but am still gonna take the drive with the gear.....you never know.

macboy - 19-3-2011 at 10:16 PM

Check that. Radar shows 100% cloud cover. I'll save the gas.....damn. Thanks anyway Canuck - I'll definitely add this to my list of "to-do's" in my kite life.
