What size is correct for 34 waist? I can't believe small is correct.
According to the MBS site:
Sizing Chart:
X Small: 27-31 inch waist
Small: 32-36 inch waist
Med: 37-41 inch waist
Large: 42-46 inch waist

I'll double check the tag on mine in the morning, but I seem to recall their sizing being fairly accurate.
What could be throwing you off is that standard US mens underwear sizing is in 2-inch increments. Hill Billy Shorts uses a 4 inch increment because
of the drawstring closure.

Contact MBS to verify sizing isn't a web typo.
The sizing chart you posted doesn't match what several other retailers have posted on their sites and it doesn't match what I ordered. Granted my
pair are 1-2 years old and before MBS had them listed on their site (although they have been the distributors for HBP for awhile now).
It's possible the sizing chart changed since I ordered them, but better to be safe than to have to do an exchange.

just tried mine they are large and my waist is about 34. They are a little loose and I probably could have used a medium but I think they will be
fine. I just hope they protect my :moon:

Better big than small. Kitejim gave me mine when a friend of his won them at a raffle, gave them to him, and he had no use for them either. I have a
33ish inch waist and they are xl or xxl. Anyway, they fit fine under my jeans and have saved my tailbone more than a dozen times.

That's weird and definitely sounds like there must have been some change in the sizing in the past year or two.
I got a Large and my waist is 36-37ish and it fits about right little or no pad shifting.
FWIW: I got the Hillbilly Gloves and Shorts within the same week. It was a little unsure of the sizing and was curious about how the gloves were in
terms of sizing and finger length. Ended up calling HBP and talking for a bit before getting everything sorted out.

I got a medium size and it fits loose. It is different than what I expected. It is a mesh that holds together a bunch of pads rather than shorts. I
was wearing baggy cargo trousers over them and it felt like I was walking around with a dump in my pants. I will try them with some tighter shorts.
They definately worked well today as I tried landboarding for the first time. I had some good hip impacts I am sure would have hurt without them.

I use a small but usually wear a MED (30ish waist) ... but find them quite bulky and hard to fit under ANYTHING without looking like I escaped from a
mental ward so haven't actually worn them yet and are sticking with my snowboard Demon crash pads that are much more slim fitting (although not as
protective).
If you are thinking you may be a small, U2U me and perhaps we can figure something out cuz they were not made with the female form in mind

Odd.... the ones (Hillbilly Impact shorts) I got fit just about right. Need to size up or wear something a tad baggier than normal over them, but
that's to be expected with padding. Don't really notice it expect for the "swish-swish" of the mesh ("ding ding ding went the trolley"). Part of the
perceived bulkiness, might be due to the widely spaced "waffle" pattern which is their way of dealing with the protection vs. flexibility issue.
First time I tried them on, I was really sleepy and dozed off in them.... forgot I had them on until I moved and heard the swish. Cuts into cargo
space in the pockets, but also to be expected and possibly a good thing for those that overload pockets.
WRT to sizing and female form.... I think there is a bit of unisex/Michelin Man sizing involved.
If the Demon Crash Pads work for you that's cool. Otherwise, some alternatives might be:
(Caveat: pricing tends to be higher than run of the mill, but....)
Trampa pads... still in development, and might be hard to source in the US when they are out.
Dainese Crash Shorts - multiple flavors and waifish EU sizing, but spendy and best bought on sale/clearance (sometimes still spendy, unless you
bump into a fire sale). Huck N Roll and Cambria Bicycle Outfitters are good sources for Dainese at discount pricing.
RED Women's Total Impact Shorts (by Burton) are available in female specic sizing and use d3o in the hips to minimize the "look at me, I have
marshmallows on" look.
POC VPD Impact Shorts - Less bulkier than they appear, uses (VPD - Visco-elastic Polymer Dough, similar to d3o) in the tailbone. Swiss made and
lesser known in the US, although that is changing. Generally receive rave reviews.

Has anyone tried something like Motorcross pants before? I was at a shop the other day and saw them for the first time. Lots of padding in the hips
and knees. The pair I was looking at were like $150, but the whole shop was really over priced. Some that look about the same are up on Amazon for
like $50-75.

Some of the riders at NABX have. Todd's "lava" suit looks like the lowers are MX pants, as do the lowers Weldngod was wearing in the pics from WWBB.
I expect in the coming summer months you would roast. Thor and a couple of the other companies offer vented MX pants, but no clue as to how effective
they are.
