kitestrings

hi for my college work im designing a gadget that speeds up packing kite strings away, for my research please...

1) how do you pack away your kitestrings?
2) what is the biggest problem you face with kitestrings?
3) how long does it take you from taking your kite out of its bag to having it ready to fly?

all replies would be greatly appreciated, and if you could mention if you are a power kiter, land based kiteboarder, or sea based that would also be helpful.

if anyone is feeling particularly generous a fluu questionare should be attached so if anyone would take the time to fill that out that would also be awsome, personal mesage me the answers.

I am land and water based kiter and it takes me no more than 2 minutes to unwind or wind my lines on my bar.You may want to look at turbo launchers to see your project has been done before. I do not use any special gadgets to wind or unwind lines. I leave the line conected to the kite. I can roll up on the beach and pull my buggy out of the car. add rear tires to buggy, unroll kite, inflate kite,sort lines and be in the air in 5 minutes or less.I fly peter lynn twin skins..........aj

All I do is buggy and fly only foils on handles. I also leave my lines attached and I use the wrap on the handles method. I don't really have any problems with them, other than perhaps if the kite gets away from me then it's a tangled mess. And as far as how long it takes to set up, speaking of kite only... less than 2 minutes.

Do not mean to but in; The Corey Lama gave me this little tid bit. Use to small bottles of water on the trailing edge (Brakes) of kite to hold it from blowing away. When you are ready to fly, the bottles simply roll off.;)

I find it easier to separate the kite from the strings when flying duo control. Because I change the lengths and strengths depending on wind speeds to often. Tried to do the same with quad control, realized it takes considerable longer to set up and if you are not extremely careful, you will end up with a bird’s nest. I find (like most of the others) that leaving the strings connected to the kite much easier and considerably faster when setting up.:singing:
