There's no quiet way to do this so here it is....I'm looking to get my hands on a 13m Psycho 3 (or Speed 2 12 although I'm not quite as keen on that
one) in good shape and for a good price (of course). This puts me officially on the fence with the Venoms for water use........scary day!
This will be quite an interesting summer in my quiver I think....all thanks to BigBen's Frenzy......
(And no....the Phannys will survive any drastic events that may or may not take place ; )tridude - 2-4-2011 at 01:08 PM
give Powerzone a call...............he has a friend out there in Washington that is about to off load one...........great kites (I just purchased one
from Kami) relaunch can be a bit tricky but what kite cant be.....................
I also know of a 13m Pulse that may come open soon that I was looking to purchase but I would give you first go if intrested. Id rather have/need B
Rocs 6m Pulse 2...................
keep me in the loop on the 13m Pulse and if you know a 6m Psycho 3/6m Pulse 2 let me know............................macboy - 2-4-2011 at 01:49 PM
Thanks Tri......
You have any experiences with 12m Speed 2's? I'm not so fond just because of my experiences with the SA - bridles, overfly if you're not paying
attention, not a fan of the drab grey (damn I'm vane when it comes to kites....)tridude - 2-4-2011 at 02:22 PM
yes i have about 2 yrs on the SA/SA2/S2's...................the 12m has a tendency to want to overfly a bit but easy to over come.........the 12m S2
is a serious upwind/jumping machine (Shaggs owns the kite now).........................I flown FSer long enough that the bridals have become a non
issue but the 5th line can be a pain during set up.
Im not sure what kind of time you have on the water but the P3/S2 may be a bit much at first for low timers..................the Pulse/Pulse 2 is a
different ball game..................easy relaunch, upwind, jump, waves, buggy, KGB, etc.......................great kites that do well with inland
winds. I dont thinnk Ive ever seen my Pulse or Pulse 2 tip tuck, front stall, or fold ever...................and have always
relaunched.......................macboy - 2-4-2011 at 05:35 PM
I know it's like getting a Supersport for your first motorcycle (it either kills you or you never even come close to using it to it's potential). I
just fear the Pulse will leave me wanting for more in short order like the Access did. The Access is still my go-to when I just want a cruise or want
to hop in the bug or on the blades and not fuss much with the kite (setup, inflate etc of the PLs). Didn't mind the Psycho 3 17 but it was a bit of a
beast compared to what I'm sure the 13 would be and think it might be the best compromise - if there is such a thing - between a Pulse and a Speed.
Thanks for the guidance too - I suspect it's gonna be a whole different world when I get back from the Keys. Perhaps I'll wait till the end of the
month to really get serious about looking and grab it when I get home (or while I'm down there).lunchbox - 2-4-2011 at 08:03 PM

What happened?Bladerunner - 3-4-2011 at 06:21 PM
Didn't you used to own a P3 ?
Funny thing is I am toying with the idea of going back to one as well ?macboy - 3-4-2011 at 10:05 PM
Yeah. Had a 17 while I waited to find the SA. No complaints about the kite at all other than it being a powerhouse
I think a 13 would be a good, manageable size for our winds and my weight.
Lunchbox - nothing "happened" as it were - I'm still gonna be giving the Venoms a fair shake on the water this summer and to be true they may win out
in our gusty inland winds but I want to have a good comparison before the cull begins. Was about to bite on the NeoII and postpone the FSer comparison
but I see Spork found you. To be true - I kept telling myself that it was $500 I could put toward the FSer instead cuz i'll never find such a crazy
deal like yours was and I've flown one so half know what they can provide (liked it quite a bit).
If I had to confess anything that "happened" it was the "flop the frenzy outta the bag, shake the lines out and go" day that got me thinking about the
bridled foils for the water. No lines to connect, no preinflate, easy launch......damn I'm torn here....you have no idea. I DO love the Arcs but some
days I just wanna open a bag and fly. Of course, on the beach it's no biggie making four trips to the kite for prelaunch. Maybe I'm ACTUALLY just
getting tired of trudging through the snow!
Once my skills get to the point where I'm getting a good 40% of a kites potential out of it maybe I'll come to some resolve Bladerunner - 4-4-2011 at 10:41 AM

Ha Ha, If we aren't Brothers we grew up drinking the same milk!
I too am getting disapointed with the time + potential to blow a launch yet LOVE my arcs when they are running.
I think I am one person who is more interested in the LEI + potential for a PL depower foil than the Phantom. :puzzled:
I like the fact that you , a few others in our boat and I can all accept that we are only getting 40% out of our kites. I think we actually speak for
a big number of people out there. From what I see MANY folks are stuck at the intermediate level in this sport. You are lucky ! your still young. I'm
hitting an age where intermediate and unbroken is starting to look good!

Found a minty fresh specimen. I question whether it's seen the light of day it's so spanky looking....and local to boot! No shipping / customs
worries.
I'll be sure to keep it fresh so I can pass it along to another PKFer if I decide the rig's not for me.tridude - 5-4-2011 at 02:26 PM
very nice minty and no hassles........................recommend rear line stopper balls, mixer stopper balls, and Ozone Megatron CL...........Kami
really hooked up the P3 before he sold it....................Mac are you taking a miss on the 13m Pulse?macboy - 5-4-2011 at 02:29 PM
PrairieWind sent me a U2U last night - he'd seen a reply to the same post but on our local forum that I don't use much that a guy here had the Psycho.
I hadn't even heard he had posted (forgot to subscribe to my own thread and was away). Now you're telling me I'm missing out on a 13 Pulse somewhere?!
The dude might even have a Door for me! He figures he doesn't want/need it anymore.......tridude - 5-4-2011 at 02:38 PM
I told you (I thought) I have a line on a 13m Pulse....................I really need and may have found a 6m Pulse 2.....................let me know
if youre still in the market...............dont pass up the P3 but make sure you have relaunch nailed prior to deep water use...........well unless
you dont mind swimming!!macboy - 5-4-2011 at 02:48 PM
Oh that's right, sorry dude. The time away and then coming back to the deal of the decade I forgot all about where things were at. Had to bite on the
local rig but thanks for the heads up on the Pulse. RevPaul has a Pulse 2 that I'm pretty sure he'd trust me with if I feel the need to compare. This
Psycho is
I'll U2U you the local forum info - this city is the heart of Canada's Flysurfer country afterall. A quick "wanted post" might get you your 6 if you
still need.....although most guys up here only go as small as eights I think.Bladerunner - 5-4-2011 at 05:34 PM
Markus and I would fly our 13m Pulse and P3 together a lot. He still has his. Even getting only 40% out of the kite I could enjoy the P3 much more.
The Pulse is a true power house and the P3 was a bit qiucker turning + more lifty. I accidentally launched Markus's Pulse one day and spent a few
minutes wondering what was wrong with my kite. BOTH are a bit tough to relaunch even on land. This should fit in nice under the SA for size.

There is a 13M Psycho 3 for sale in the SF Bay area for $475 I saw posted at Sherman Island. PM me and I will send you info I wrote down. Don't know
if they would ship but worth a call.
