POGO KITING

Seanny - 6-4-2011 at 04:44 PM

Is this possible?! I MUST TRY IT!

Kite + pogo stick = well I don't know. But it'll be EPIC. And possibly painful. Probably painful. Okay. Definitely painful.

i dont think you should try it---you may need those family jewels one day.......

rocfighter - 6-4-2011 at 05:29 PM

If you need to do it, Do it before you decide you want kids!!
ps. Don't do it. Get one of your friends to do it. Than you can still laugh after! Oh and who ever does it MUST say "Hey y'all watch this" first.

bring the gopro

Please don't think I was being completely serious, I don't want to be flamed and told how stupid I am. It was a spontanious idea, I don't advocate ANYONE trying it... Although it'd be pretty awesome! Maybe one day in light wind, on video, just to say I've done it :) But then again... I'd be asking for limb mutilation.

indigo_wolf - 6-4-2011 at 05:47 PM

Pogo Stick? Don't think so... too unstable without growing some additional arms (which I guess is an excuse for some quality mad scientist lab time). :o

Powerizers/Sky Runners/Air Trekkers? Probably more possible, but chance of injury ramps up quite a few factors.

Not recommending it, but.... and yes, limb mutilation is a distinct possibility/... scratch that.... probability.

Not seriously suggesting this, but WIBNIs are fun.

Those things where disigned for a kid that was born with no lowr leggs. The father (I think) made a rudamentery set so he could keep up with his friends running around.
For some reason I remember this from some show when I was young-er. Ripley's or that's amazing? But I could be way off!!

thanks for remembering about those powerizers! spectacular! must try them sometimes..

indigo_wolf - 7-4-2011 at 06:01 AM

Head full of useless information....

Powerizers like lots of things are probably much harder than they look. Despite the whiz-bang tricks you see people doing, there definitely seems to be a learning curve.

The following is a testament to relationships... and possibly the accepting nature of pets (who put up with all sorts of human foolishness).

I like the various comments about breaking the fan, trashing the pictures on the walls, and falling on the dog. Baby steps are always funny regardless of the endeavor.

I think the originals where made from very light leaf springs. These have come a long way.

I'm still waiting for a pair of those to show up at a garage sale ; got the pogo stick , got the unicycle, got the skateboard ski , got the wheelchair(you know for when no other wheeled thing will do) , got the stilts, sooner or later it will happen.
Seanny I already have a mental picture of how to do it , emphasis on MENTAL. If it can be done the brain trust at PKF will find a way. As always just because it can be done does'nt mean it should be done.

This is why I search craigslist with the terms "Used once" :singing:

Hilarious that you bring the powerisers up. When I ordered my first kite ( my 6m access xt), I was debating buying a set of them instead. Growing up my father made garden sheds for extra money. Every year my brothers and I each made a set of stilts. My friends got in the fun and we got together and had little wars where we teamed up and tried to knock the other team over. These just seemed to be real entertaining; but, luckily for me when I was at the checkout, I closed the window and ordered the kite instead. Still wanna try a pair one day though.
