So while I have been out of work and rehabilitating from my shoulder surgery, I got stir crazy, and found my way to the lab.Since I damaged my rear
axle at Wildwood in the Fall(clipped a pylon ,bent axle) , it HAD to be repaired. So, while I was making a new axle, I figured I might as well make
that front fender too.
While I was welding the stainless steel sheet metal for the fender, I thought "what this bug needs is side plates!" So,I found this cool building
material called "apollic" or something like that. It is 2 pieces of aluminum sheet metal w/ polyethylene between them. It is used on building facades
and wrapping structural members. Then I just HAD to paint it w/ "color shifting" paint. It looked so good I had to make a rear plate too!
