belly pan

dirtslide - 12-4-2011 at 10:08 AM

now that i will be getting that new flexi scout ( ranger) buggy i am looking for a belly pan with some cool graffix like the ones from darkskykites . is this the only place to buy them or does anyone know of something on this side of the pond?

indigo_wolf - 12-4-2011 at 10:44 AM

Where are you located?

Buggy accessories are definitely a niche market, and the UK tends to have more folks in the business.

However, I expect it would be reasonably easy to find someone local to you that can custom cut a sheet of HDPE.

Places like TAP Plastics have multiple locations and in some cases can do the work while you wait.

Ranger? I thought you got a Flexifoil Scout buggy. If you got the Scout, let me know. Might make things easier.

dirtslide - 12-4-2011 at 10:55 AM

yes i stand corrected it is a scout and not a ranger. :embarrased: i dont think i have a head injury or maybe i do haha

indigo_wolf - 12-4-2011 at 11:08 AM

OK.... just checking.

I just sent in a request to one of the UK buggiers who did a template for Scout belly pan as a PDF file.

I will let you know as soon as I hear from him.

Sam

ripsessionkites - 12-4-2011 at 12:25 PM

there is only one : http://darkskykites.com/

maybe you want an Uncle's Belt too???

if you are going to order one if you have it shipped to Holland it can come with my new ApeXX

indigo_wolf - 12-4-2011 at 01:57 PM

A template for a belly pan for the Flexifoil Scout can be found here (as a PKZip file):

http://www.outriderweb.com/forum_posts/pkf/pan.zip

It has been broken down as a series of A4 documents that can be taped together.

There is also a Word Document and seperate PDF of the full layout for anyone that has access to a large format printer (or a local Staples).

If you find the file(s) of use, take a moment to sign onto KiteCrowd and send a work of thanks to RaggedRoy who was exceptionally speedy in getting back to me.

Sam

dirtslide - 12-4-2011 at 09:20 PM

thanks Indigo

arkay - 12-4-2011 at 10:02 PM

I was planning to order one fro dsk last year but shipping was a killer. I missed getting one at NABX with the other ones that came over, but if we get a few orders than I'd be happy to split shipping...

macboy - 12-4-2011 at 10:46 PM

How killer is killer? I'm game on a shipping split if DSliddy is gonna go that route. If not I'll join you and any others that might be interested. Wonder how many pans Rip can wrap around an Apexx? (Say THAT ten times fast......)

dirtslide - 13-4-2011 at 01:23 PM

if you get in touch with Neil at DSK right away and let him know how many we want and let him know that they are all coming this way im sure he will ship the lot together . the custom pan he is making up for me is almost finished so next time i am in contact with him i will let him know to hang on to it until we get it together over here. If you like they can come here to vancouver and then out to edmonchuck, and i may be headed down to Oregon next month so that would work out for you Arkay ,lets do this

macboy - 13-4-2011 at 02:31 PM

I'm in. I'll contact him RIGHT NOW.

macboy - 13-4-2011 at 03:16 PM

From Neil:

"Spreading the delivery cost sound like a great idea for you guys the more the merrier as the cost of shipping isn't cheap. I will need to know exactly who what's one and what style as they are all different in weight and that is what the delivery costs is based on.

I'm at the minute putting dirtslide's design together, so you have over the weekend to get as many people together to share the cost, plus I'm sure Ken would be happy to wait a little longer to spread the costs as well"

dirtslide - 13-4-2011 at 03:22 PM

great work Macboy, are you getting a Oilers logo on that pan :D

macboy - 13-4-2011 at 04:44 PM

I'm not rich enough for a custom.

Actually I'll get the decaling done here at home so I can take my time with it. But prooobably NOT the Oiler's logo......that logo always comes in last - unless you count the draft pick in which case we're first but I'm not one for pity which I think is what the draft pick is all about ; )

I've just U2U'd you a message regarding this (shipping etc.).

nice link Nocanndo , some great buggy ideas.

macboy - 20-4-2011 at 05:34 PM

Having fun with this one! If I brand it right (that's my company) I can write off the whole hobby as advertising. Now...where can I get a custom graphic on a kiteboard.........

dirtslide - 21-4-2011 at 01:07 PM

very nice , can we write off the shipping too. lol .looks great Kelly

macboy - 21-4-2011 at 04:11 PM

Shipping is WAY cheaper than I expected too. Guys....if you want a plain (non custom) pan and you want in on this order jump in now! We'll let you know the cost of the shipping but let's just say it's hardly the cost of a dozen premium cold ones.

Cheap! And cheaper the more we share it with.

jellis - 21-4-2011 at 08:19 PM

I have made a few for Hardcore buggies but I am not statisfied with the ABS plastic material I used. I can make a pattern of paper and send it to anyone that wants it.

jellis - 21-4-2011 at 08:22 PM

Sorry tequila made me hit send again?

dirtslide - 4-5-2011 at 09:50 PM

John can u please send a pattern for the hardcore to Neil at darksky kites in the uk.
I have been in touch with him and he has requested the patten from u. Then he will make them out of the material that he uses and they will be available for the hardcore. Thank you in advance.
Dirtslide.

Update for you Dslide....while we were away I got a message from Neil asking if I had the artwork ready. Thing it, I had sent it the day before we left. I resent it as soon as I got back here (literally) but got an auto reply saying he was away until the 18th or something like that. Bit of a ball up - sorry man. We should have 'em by month end. I think he said (or you said he said) 5 days to ship or something like that. I may get you to pack it up with the Door Rip picked up for me and send 'em both on the same bus ticket. I'll keep you posted.

I guess for all the others that were thinking about jumping on on the pan deal - there's still time now!

arkay - 15-5-2011 at 03:47 PM

Jon should back in town soon too so that I can make me a hardcore pan ;)

dirtslide - 22-6-2011 at 10:33 PM
