Significant Other?

ICTKITEFLYER - 13-4-2011 at 08:36 AM

Any love stories out there of people finding their significant other kiting? and do they kite with you? That's my dream is to find a chick that will fly my kite!!!! ;)

I thought about your desire to find someone to fly your kite and had a good laugh, my wife usually has a headache. :D

ha ha... ok.. yeah good luck with that! When you figure out a way for that to happen let the rest of us know. I know way to many people that either kiting ended their relationship, or you come to a point that you do your thing and they do theirs. (notice the lack of women that kite in general?) About the only 'couples' i know that kite together is Willow (island Quad) and Steve (iQuad), and Bazz (iQuad) and his lovely wife :)

Oh yeah... and maybe the Cronin's of Montana Snowkite fame, but their kids ride to and are amazing!

i have KiteBuggy Mama ... got her into kiting and hooked ever since. Now she's been part of the NABX Team for the past couple years.

yeah but rip.. that's different... you are just so charasmatic you won her over, that and your suave charm while you amazed her with a buggy ride. Who wouldn't be hooked after that!

There is a speedy couple in NH that fly together , I occationaly cross paths on the ice with a couple from central NY. If you go to Girl Storm in VT you will find a gathering women kiters.

Attempted to persuade the wife a couple times to try a trainer kite, but she wanted nothing to do with it. She said that she would be glad to video tape me sometime, but only if I had some good crashes. That figures.

Thirteen years of marriage, I think the honeymoon is over :duh:

Cheddarhead my wife increased the life insurance policy she has on me and I think I've heard her humming an old country song..."love ya when your gone". I did not find her while kiting!

My wife Kelci took to buggying from the very start in 1993. There's only one problem, after that I needed 2 of everything! 2 buggies, 2 Quad 25's, etc.

Third date, my man broke his wrist learning to snowboard.

Seven years later and now engaged, we make several trips a year to board up north. I pretty much just get him into everything that comes across the wire and he is usually up for it.
(Well, everything except ice hockey. I've learned Brazilians don't do well on ice)

:spin:

i should add that when I can find a man that keeps up with me kiting... well.. then he will still be chasing my skirt tails! :)

My last hope is that she enjoys warm summer beaches when I nail kitesurfing......we tried everything. RV for NABX, warm clubhouse at the lake for the winter time, wind shelters......she's got no interest in flying so we've just been trying to find ways that she can join me when I go out. So far not much luck. Really banking on the water and beaches.

At the end of the day it means NABX, SOBB, Snowkite Soldier etc will all be bachelor trips which on the one hand is crazy fun (while the cat's away) but I do actually wish shed get more into it or be a part of it....I'm so hopelessly addicted.

Flash you forgot John and TK Barrisi od IQuad. And I believe they did meet through kiting.
Sandy and I however did not meet kiting. She does fly now and then. But mostly when we (The Kidd and I) are flying. She is hiking around or searching to pick up trash. But last spring she spent the whole weekend at WW tag saleing!!

bobalooie57 - 13-4-2011 at 06:17 PM

:eureka: I remember walking to breakfast and looking at the garage sales on the way. Yeah, I wish there were more ladies into kiting, also. Most of the ladies I know think my kiting is 'cute' in a weird(childlike, I guess) sort of way, but not one has ever grabbed a set of handles, either. :duh::lol:
