I am just wondering, do you guys fold up your kites then role them up into a tube, or fold up the kites then fold them to a small brick.
The reason i ask is when my kites came new they were nice and folded, but i end up folding then roiling them up.
Just wondering as i thought folds were bad indigo_wolf - 27-4-2011 at 08:10 PM
Soft fold and final roll.
I expect that the reason kites are flat folded at the factory is that it is easy to deal with them that way as they move through the production and
packaging stages.
Most foil kites are fairly supple.... some stress/weight would be required for any damage to occurr. Likewise, the coatings are fairly advanced now.
Crease damage to the coating would generally tend to indicate some Holmenkol 'Seal and Glide' TLC might be required.
In the end, kites are a consumable product.... you take care of them the best you can.... but rust never sleeps.

That is just for those who are smaller then most of the kites they fly!
I fold and roll, and don't forget the socks for your handles. Don't want your handles getting cold now!ragden - 28-4-2011 at 05:05 AM
Fold it wingtip to wingtip, and then roll em up. Fold in half once and stuff in the bag. Depending on how much sand/water is in the kite I either roll
tightly, or really loose. Minshall - 28-4-2011 at 05:19 AM
Fold and roll here as well.f22warzone - 28-4-2011 at 06:59 AM
All right was just making sure : ) Thanks,
Really love these kites, and just wanted to make sure i was taking proper care of themPHREERIDER - 28-4-2011 at 07:07 AM
i more enjoy the word "disposable" rather than "consumable"
it keeps things in perspective.
roll it!snowspider - 28-4-2011 at 09:05 AM
You could join the D-ARC side. I believe a few of those guys just park their kites a zenith overnight. No stop drop fold and roll for them!doneski - 28-4-2011 at 09:21 AM
Roll. If my ARC kite is clean and dry, I roll it up with the spars in and continue to roll up the lines right up to my control bar. The next time I
use the kite, I attach the control bar to a pack or ice screw, unroll everything and inflate. I keep my Venoms in ski bags cause I'm too lazy to
fold.Drewculous - 28-4-2011 at 11:01 AM
arcs just get rolled, everything else, fold and roll...
unless im in a sh*tstorm, then its "stuff it in the bag and run!!!"acampbell - 28-4-2011 at 12:10 PM
For arcs, tips together with spars in and roll towards the open deflate zipper. Same with Neo, but roll up around the bar (no spars)Cheddarhead - 28-4-2011 at 12:53 PM
agree 100% with Drew, storm type winds require survival tactics. Stuff and run! Worry about tidyness later.
