wanted depowerkite rtf

the gringo - 2-5-2011 at 05:12 AM

hi there, i want a depowerkite and i don't really care what it is or what condition it is in as long as it fly's, becouse i have never flown one and i don't want to buy a new one incase i don't like them or can't fly them, so the cheaper the better please.

Wrong approach.

You will be representing us as you hurt yourself not going about this safely . You need to do a bit of study and start out small. That any kite , any size attitude is a path to disaster!

I agree with blade runner, not a good idea. I have a 12.5m HQ montana that's in like new condition that I might be willing to let go of but it will kill you if you're less than 200# in winds over 15mph. Especially if you don't know what you're doing. My suggestion is to find a kiting event nearby and go test fly something rather than dumping $$$ into something you don't even know if you'll like or be able to fly.

i think i give you the wrong idea guys, i allready have kites and use a buggy, i just want to get into the depower side of it,
thanks for the advise and the concern, you guys on this forum are like one big family that all look out for one another,;-)

Now we are talking!

There are some great deals on this site but 90% of the gear is from North America. Still it may be worth the shipping because prices can be pretty good here?

In general, avoid depower kites pre 2005 or 6 . Most companies seemed to leap forward those years and kites have only gotten better. Trying something older will not be a good introduction.

If you want a crash-test dummy, my Airush Lift is sitting in the cupboard doing nothing ...

the gringo - 4-5-2011 at 01:47 AM

thanks guys,
Kamikuza, a crash-test dummy is just what i want if you are willing to let it go (i can give that a good home),
let me know what you want to do with it please matey.

And if you decide against Kami's Airush I may have a Sabre 2 for sale RTF.

But it's a 12m. FYI.

Fun kite, not so much a light wind kite but more a clydesdale kite. Has the 5th line safety and leashless set up. I like the kite but never use it for obvious reasons.

And the other 10% are coming out of Kami's closet in Japan. ;)

Mougle has a 9.5m depower in the fs section

I will be listing a HQ Apex 7.5m generation 1 soon. The kite is very crispy. The bar and lines are in good shape. It was my intro into depower and then I went off the deep end into arcs.......

Hey, not totally sure what you are looking for and I am not an employee of this company... just a satisfied customer, but this is a great place to check for used kites

Silent Sports

They test all their used stuff and do any necessary repairs. I have been pleased with the used kite I got and am so glad I bought used for my first kite. Took away some of the anxiety of the learning curve when I was crashing it into the ground all the time.

Cheers,

D
