I havent found much info about the benefits or applications for the different types of spreader bars. I was thinking about getting a dakine roller
spreader bar since I really like kite skating (rollerblading) rather than using a mountain board and will probably also go with wake skates instead of
a kiteboard after I take kiteboarding lessons in a few weeks. It seems like the roller bar would help since my hips are facing the dirrection of
travel when using rollerblades or wake skates instead of facing the kite and turning my head in the dirrection of travel (using a mountainboard or
ktieboard). Not sure if the roller bar is less secure though or meant more for windsurfing?
Any suggestions?

for chicken loops (standard hook)
handles (pivoting roller is best) - buggying
handles (static roller) - flyboarding

Don't know about land sports (I landboard unhooked) but for kitesurfing a regular / fixed hook is the way to go IMO. Keep it simple is usually the
direction I prefer.

does boarding unhooked mean you tire quicker?

@spork - Not really. It takes so much less power to move me around on a landboard vs. a kiteboard that I use a small 2 line kite. If I used a
depowerable kite, that would be different and I'd have to wear a harness.

ah, thanks for clearing that up.
i though you meant you landboard unhooked on a big depower
i go unhooked with my trainer, but could never imagine myself, or anyone really, going unhooked with a big kite for more than 10min.

It really comes down to personal preference as to which one is better. My suggestion is that you wait until you finish with your kiteboarding lessons
and if possible, try a couple different types during your lessons. That way you can get a good feel as to how each one is and make a better decision
based on what YOU like.
