had a great day flying today but came up with a new tech tip question.
We have all had it happen, the infamous Bow Tie. Does anybody have a technique to "untie" one without walking out to the kite and untwist the bridle
from the kite?

A bit of luck 
with one of the foils was it? Most of my recoveries involve
getting the kite on the ground and jiggling lines and handles

If the kite is on the ground and the bridles are still untangled (just twisted; E.G. part of the kite doesn't pass through a bridle loop), just yank
one or both handles really hard repeatedly and the kite will come undone, most of the time :P If the kite fabric is tangled within the bridle, then
yanking it will only make it worse and you may have to walk to the kite. If you can get it untangled enough from the handles where the kite fills up
with air and launches, but one tip is still mangled, you can usually jig the line in mid-air and it'll come undone.
With an ARC it's a bit harder. I sheet the bar all the way in and pull on the rear line of the tip on the bottom, provided that it tacos. If it
doesn't taco, just pick a rear line and yank it

@Kamikuza: yes it is a foil [don't have any ARCs or de-power yet]. I have been doing the "jiggle & shake" thing. I was hoping for a
"yea... just rotate the handle on the offending side 360 degrees in the vertical plane and 90 degrees counter clockwise in the horizontal
plane" sort of answer :singing::P
@Seanny: I have been doing several of the "fix the tip" evolutions. Yes it is the "fabric through the bridle" sort of issue rather than the "crumpled
and need re inflation" sort.:tumble:

Mmm, I don't think there's any hard and fast rules for it - just use your sense to get bits in the right place to get the wind to flip them through
the right way ... not much help I know :D best thing is to figure out why they happen in the first place and just avoid doing that :frog:

I have found that with bridled open cell foils, as long as they are not "through the bridle" you can get them undone by finesse and control through
the handles. I have also found that getting the kite upside down tends to get them to un-bowtie much easier. Get it nose down and then work with the
brakes, popping it up and down and the bowtie is much easier to get fixed.

Agree with Kent. Also helps to do a tip stand - get the untangled end up off the ground with the twisted end still on the ground walk toward the kite
working the handles a bit and the bridles tend to drag a bit and untangle. Be careful doing this because you will be in position for a hot launch and
need to immediately direct the kite to the edge of the window or get it onto the ground again if it is still tangled.

for me nose down just digs up more sand, kent does'nt have that problem,so i state it out, run up ,fix, run back and away i go,woohoo look at him go.
