I would just save my money and buy a real kite from a real manufacturer that knows how to build one.

I agree with Kent - when you try and save money getting something like this it ends up being frustrating and they just don't fly the same. If you want a cheap first experience there are always used foils for sale and even getting some of the kites sold as trainer kites for surfing will be better quality and many times those kites are sold off very cheap.

I agree with all of the above! Buying the right kite the first time is well worth the wait!

I would watch ebay, I just got a brand new skydog sdt 4.0 for $100. In shops they go for like $350. Not really sure how good this kite is, but seems to be a decent one.

If money is tight the best choice in kites is used. Typically a recent model lightly used kite will sell for about 50% of new price.

Another trick is to buy 1 kite complete and the second kite only.

Going for quality is key and I see you understand that. We need about 3 kites to cover all winds. I would far prefer to have 2 or 3 used kites of all sizes than one new kite of any size?

Good move asking the folks on here ! I think you just saved yourself 40 quid avoidin that one. That is one busy looking bridle?
