Something similar happened years ago on the windward side of O'ahu, Hawaii. Kite went over the trees and wrapped around the power lines. Knocked out

After seeing this it is in some way a giant shame, that we cannot get insurance to cover these mishaps.
In Australia land kiters are discriminated, water kiters are covered .
Only way for landkiters was to join Geelong Kite Club, but have heard that may be a big no go as someone has made a big claim against them.bigkahuna - 15-6-2011 at 02:57 AM
I've never met (nor heard of) anyone in the US who carries insurance for kitesurfing (with the exception of some of the schools).
