Nice Mix!
Dope: I saw a band do an unbelievable cover of dope's "die motherf*cker, die" once and it was unreal! Awesome band!
Peter Von Poehl: not gonna lie, after dope, that caught me a little off guard, nice an chill, but way off from dope (was he tripping?)
Imelda May: I instantly thought of Flash, she does the old timey(ish) pin-up pics, and for some reason the singer here reminds me of her. Catchy
tune
Kelly Willis: Not a country fan... but is the very first guy playing the guitar, the little squirrelly guy from "Top Gear" ?? Ya know the one who has
the strange fascination with porsche? I swear thats the same guy!! I also think Kelly is the hot aussie chick from "outsourced".....
Too much energy drink, too early..
Since this is a kite forum...

like to play them all at once ...just like i dump the entire box of chocolates in my mouth at once.
nice spectrum! could have used some baroque , i dig the funerals, so a requiem would be nice. maybe some classic guitar , so to motivate me to
learn something new.Drewculous - 15-6-2011 at 07:30 AM
When you said you dump a box of chocolate into your mouth... This was my first thought....

Well, I did say Whitman Sampler. My musical tastes definitely run to the eclectic.
The Dope tune is playing in the background of "The Fast and the Furious" when they are suiting up in SWAT gear to storm the Tran mansion.
The Peter Von Poehl is playing at the end of the French comedy, "The Heartbreaker" (hilarious movie).
I saw Imelda May in the middle of the night on a late night talk show.
I bought my first Kelly Willis album after a reviewer compared her voice to "a cat curling up in your lap and purring." She's been doing the family
thing the past couple of years and doing gigs local to Austin with a smattering of road trips. I keep trying to convince her to hit the east coast.
She's done MA gigs before, but not in a bit. Spent about 6 or 7 years in TX, so at least some country tunes always make the roster.
OK, to bring the thread back to kites..... here's a little White Light Riot doing "Out of Sight"
