Alternate use for kite-killers

My son was messing around with some of my kite stuff today and was playing with my home-made kite killers for my 2m nasa... then I got an idea... he's always losing his soother... so this will work out just great!

I used to WW and kayak surf. I have to question whether it is a great idea to lash your paddle to yourself. Getting maytagged is bad enough without a loose paddle failing about. It seems to be very similar to run away straps on skis not to have some of the same hazards.

I mainly paddle on a fast river, trust me, you do not wanna lose a paddle on the river.

"A paddle leash may be used for securing a paddle in open water with a sea kayak. Especially on solo tours after capsizing a paddle might drift away through wind or waves and not be recovered. A paddle leash must not be used in whitewater kayaking due to the danger of getting strangled."

I have never heard of leashes being recommended for anything above class 0 water, i.e. still water
For the views of other paddlers try this. It is considered a very bad idea to use a leash in moving water.

The wood chipper has a sticker on the feed chute that reads, Do not insert any body parts into feed augers:puzzled:. Now this sounds like common sense and yet they need to say it any way. Hence my mood statice. Some will only learn in the end.:crazy:

i don,t wanna get stuck because my paddle is between some rocks, if you are a real kayakker you should now that what you are doing is dangerous...

Same goes for newbies using kite killers, and yes, I have seen people try to hang themselves with these while flying kites. They should be banned all together :thumbdown:

Cant see any harm, should have drawn a picture maybe, one end attached to paddle, other end attached to cargo net on front, fast river, no more than class 1, also big knife attached to life jacket (yes, I do wear one). Its a touring kayak

each to there own, i remember someone tells me how I need KK to fly. LOL.
I never learned with them 15 years ago and I cant see why I would need them now.

KK will do well with some but its not for everyone. You'll notice that only the beginner kites come with them.

next week I fly my Vapors with KK for fun. LOL.
