What is the wind range on this kite?

Houston AirHead - 23-6-2011 at 09:17 AM

8-20mph

van - 23-6-2011 at 10:20 AM

I've buggied with it in about 5-6 mph. Little harder to get it to launch at 5mph wind but once it is in the air, it's super fast on a buggy.

Relaunch can be a bit of trouble for a beginer making this a bit less than an ideal kite for learning. Particularily if you will be in water too deep to stand up.

On the other hand it's smooth delivery of power is a positive? Fergus used one teaching folks here when they 1st came out but only 1 season and we have a shallow bay.

Thanks for the feedback bladerunner!

I let this one sit on the water for about 15 minutes once and then relaunched it. It had taken on some water but it still relaunched and sat there in the air til the water drained out. The trick is to watch it and not let it roll on the water otherwise you are fine. It is a lot of kite for a beginner but it was my first big kite. On land I think it goes from flying to turning ON at 7mph. I tried to buggy with it once in 4mph or less and it would fly but I didn't have the skill to ride with it. I don't think this kite will disappoint anyone. The only better low wind kite is a silver arrow in my opinion.
