now beginig to look at the hq beamer 5 maybe more what im after metal ground stake better looking handles ect might just be what im afterindigo_wolf - 26-6-2011 at 12:59 PM
Not to be harsh, but that's a poor reason for jumping up to the 5 meter Beamer.
To the best of my knowledge, ALL of the Beamers (2m, 3m, 4m, 5m) have the same accessories.
The metal ground stake is available seperately for $7-$8 USD.
It looks like you have been shopping for a quad line kite since the beginning of May..... if you have the funds at the ready, that's almost two months
you could have been flying.

Ross, you are showing an extraordinary talent for indecisiveness and ignoring people's advice.
Compared to what you have, the 5m Beamer will be slow, ponderous, pull like a train and not be terribly lifty. Is that what you want ??? Nice light
wind buggy engine though....
You need to beg/borrow or buy secondhand a name brand 2.5m - 3m kite. Most of what has already been discussed will be just fine.
Or if you simply must have something reasonably lifty to start with, get a 4 or 5.5m Twister or 4.9m Blade IV. And get your hospital cover sorted.
You could learn to fly a four line lifty powerkite like these providing you stick to very light winds. But hey, you've ignored all my advice so far,
so why start now ?viperkid181 - 26-6-2011 at 07:24 PM
I just bought my 10.5m blade 3 today. If your set on the beamer 5 5m let me know I could use some extra cash to cover my new upgrade. I've only used
mine for like 20 or 30 some hours. If you have any questions about the beamer let me know.shaggs2riches - 26-6-2011 at 07:45 PM

Only 20 to 30 hrs of flight time and you're upgrading to such a powerhouse kite. Take that badboy in light winds for sometime, don't want to see ya in
the hossy. Personally I'd keep the Beamer for a while, you won't have the same windrange with that blade.

Lately the wind around here is around 10mph which is fine for a light work out but I'm looking for a bit more fun in light winds. Appreciate the
concern but I wont be flying this blade anytime soon in anything over 15 mph. Also I couldn't pass this up bid up. Won the bid on ebay for an amazing
price xDLooking_Up - 26-6-2011 at 08:54 PM
I am not trying to stir the pot but I think 10 mph with that blade is going to feel like you are trying to hang on to a jet boat better keep it to no
more than 5 for some time and have lots of space down wind
I think you will have lots of fun with that kite but it would be like sending a 19 m charger in 15 to 20
just be careful we don't like to here about injuryviperkid181 - 26-6-2011 at 09:19 PM
OK thanks for the advice. Someone also mentioned 4-6 mph on another thread so I think I'll take it out in winds around there for the first time.rossb63 - 27-6-2011 at 12:55 AM
No problem... in another thread, it sounded like you were looking for a second hand kite. The Beamer V is new for 2011, so I thought the 5 was a
reference to the size. The Beamer V 3M should suit you just fine.

Hah, whoops. Then please disregard my previous post. Very little difference between Beamer or Hornet. Twister should be a little faster/lifty.
Haven't seen the V's, but the IV's are darn nice little kites.rossb63 - 27-6-2011 at 04:48 AM

It sounds to me like money is tight for you ?
Kites are like cars. They drop in resale value as soon as you bring them home.
The Beamer will resell easy but at a loss if you buy new. You can buy and sell a used quality 3m kite for very little loss.
Your best bang for buck is to go used ! Also you are hard on your 1st kites so getting something lightly used makes damaging the kite hurt less.
