Heck, I flip over in a MG Cruzer.. I would be doing sideways somersaults with this thing.

John Holgate - 28-6-2011 at 09:14 PM

can you spell Maneoverable ??? nope, spell checker tells me it's wrong!! With a bit of care and maybe a smaller kite, it looks like a hoot.

cheezycheese - 28-6-2011 at 10:39 PM

I'm told there's video out there somewhere but haven't found it yet.

Any help with that, please ?

WELDNGOD - 29-6-2011 at 12:23 PM

Marc,YOU are the swan neck and the forks, that's what makes it a suicide buggy! Strap the wheel to your feet, strap your butt between the 2 wheels and have at it.

WELDNGOD - 29-6-2011 at 12:26 PM

The owner says he has no vids posted but he has more pics on his Fb page. He also said, he has been using it as his main buggy for several years.

WELDNGOD - 29-6-2011 at 04:52 PM

YOU ARE THE SWAN NECK... BE THE SWAN NECK... I AM THE SWAN NECK... which mantra will you be chanting WG.

cheezycheese - 29-6-2011 at 09:29 PM

It's so low tech, it's high tech!! Kinda like Fred Flinstone meets Tron... :cool2: but hoe does he strap on the wheel while holding a kite...?

cheezycheese - 29-6-2011 at 09:30 PM

Didn't somebody post a buggy thread about the driver being a stressed member...

van - 30-6-2011 at 07:00 AM

That was Kami's idea with the rider as a stressed member and macpherson struts on one of my thread .. and then it went down hill from there ..haha..

pyro22487 - 30-6-2011 at 10:40 AM

ok as for the swan neck thing in the first pic it looks like it is supported by a single side. not sure how it turns though. it looks like the perfect bug for someone with a very small car let me know how she rides popeye.

WELDNGOD - 30-6-2011 at 01:34 PM

It's not supported at all. What you are seeing is the landboard bindings on the footpegs.

cheezycheese - 30-6-2011 at 01:47 PM

Donnie, I'm not on Facebook. Do you have any more photos...?

WELDNGOD - 30-6-2011 at 03:59 PM

shehatesmyhobbies - 30-6-2011 at 05:17 PM

Yeah now I'm interested! I would definitely give it a go!

awindofchange - 30-6-2011 at 06:17 PM

Ok, that is just not natural.....kewl, but not natural! LOL I may just have to build one of these too.

cheezycheese - 30-6-2011 at 07:20 PM

Dude must have killer abs...

rocfighter - 1-7-2011 at 07:33 PM

Yeah Cheese just like you and me! :D
But our killer abs are killing us after buggying!:shocked2:

rocfighter - 1-7-2011 at 07:37 PM

I want to know what he does if he crashes the kite while moving and slacks the lines. He must be able to pull his feet out easily and either stand up with the base on his but or just foot push himself backwards and relounch and then work back to his front wheel and put it back on.
I don't know but it seems a bit difficult to me. But some of you have seen me buggy and I find the regular way difficult now and then!!

pyro22487 - 12-7-2011 at 09:05 PM

ok definatly cool and ok i see the foot peg now. anyone know how much a setup like this would cost to have built my skills with a welder are nonexistant and the seat is tricky too. although sideways pull may be a trick with the fact that i ride a wide axel buggy and cant keep a peter lynn from flipping on me.

BeamerBob - 12-7-2011 at 11:50 PM

its all between the hips and the front is really just a balance point for your legs. It's really a cool idea and I wouldn't mind trying it out. Not sure I'd want 50 mph with it, but it would be a blast on the beach I bet.

pbc - 13-7-2011 at 06:26 PM

This certainly challenges your conventional wisdom about kite buggying.

To think I thought kite bikes were weird the first time I saw a photo of one.

ragden - 14-7-2011 at 04:36 AM

That's insane. I look forward to laughing as people crash trying to do this...
I think I'll stick to my regular buggy...
:)

pyro22487 - 15-7-2011 at 09:25 PM

anybody have contact info for this guy or maybe bluprints. i want to build a trail/tandem setup and with this design i could easily do it. also it would be great to know where he got the seat made at. any information would be helpful i really want a cheap light tandem and this fits the bill perfectly.

His name is Marcus Edwards,he is a friend of mine on FB. I don't think he has prints. If you want some design input about tandems ,I would be your guy. Ask anybody...

I disagree... It's VERY natural. An organic downtube (your legs). What's more natural than that?
