Are most components for landboarding cross compatible?
As in can a GI truck go on another MBS or Trampa deck w/o redrill? Are wheels generally interchangeable etc?
Just curious about versatilty and options. I suspect most of the stuff is able to be paired with most of the other stuff but I thought I'd see what
you guys have to say.

Wheels are universal but bearings are different for skate trucks and channel trucks. Channels use 12mm and skates use 10mm I believe but you can go
from truck type to truck type with any wheel so long as you have the right bearings.
You can swap trucks and bindings from maker to maker but they generally have different mount patterns and will require you to redrill.
Skate trucks may be universal (not sure because I don't ride them) but channel trucks all seem to have different mount patterns and some are designed

Skate truck are pretty universal.... there are two hole patterns, but most newer base plates have both of them and I believe one is used almost
exclusively for mountainboards. MBS Vector trucks also use the Skate pattern.
In addition to 12mm and 10 mm, some Skate trucks use 9mm ID bearings.

Most trucks are 12mm (including skate) I know the GI titanium skate trucks are 9.5mm not sure of any 10mm or 9mm?
the new Bionic Spring trucks fit MBS and GI boards, and as stated the skate trucks are all universal with an "old school" skate baseplate

I figured that the non-channel variety used the same bolt pattern as a standard skate truck and as I recall, (haven't looked at skate trucks in a
while) most of the trucks are drilled for both patterns?
I'm going to be using a channel truck. Got a new board inbound and tho I'm not planning on doing any swaps anytime soon but you never know.
9.5mm on the Ti trucks eh? .5mm to minimise flex a little and make it feel more like steel?
New board has 12mm axles. Hopefully will support my early fat arse's early stage lack of finess.;-)

"Compatible" might be a bit misleading.... "Optimized for" might be a better phrasing.
In 2009 and before GI used to double drill some of their boards (the AK 103 and Prodigy 90). Both had a steeper tip angle targeted for Torsion Bionic
trucks. However, they would accept skate trucks using a rubber riser plate (think shim).
Both the Akoni Kama (32 degree tip angle) and Edge (26 degree tip angle) are fitted with Spring Bionics. So there is a range of tip angles that will
work, not just a hard number. The sharper tip angle for boards that are fitted with channel trucks determine how high up the board will sit and
mechanical force being exerted on the trucks.
While you can use skate trucks with deeper tip angles if you add a riser plate, I have never seen it go the other way. Trying to mount a channel
truck on a board with a 15 or 16 degree tip angle is going to have the board riding high and wobbly.

High ride height is not likely to be my friend so I have no designs of putting channels on a low angle board. I'm gunning toward low,stiff and
stable.

channel trucks are designed for a 35* tip angle as I understand it.
