Let the growing begin

shaggs2riches - 5-7-2011 at 10:35 PM

I was talking about maybe trying to grow some chillies and veggies with a coworker last week. At the end of today he tells me to pull up to his truck cause he has something for me. I thought is was the dvd's I lent him, but I was wrong................

The one he gave me was the Deluxe model. I wanted one for a couple of years, he said it was a grad present from his father (his dad runs an organics business). He only opened it to see what it was and thought to give it to someone who might use it. Looks like I might start those peppers sooner than I thought.;)

Ok, that first photo is totally a bullshop..... Does the product work as advertised? Yes. That well? No.

Can you grow anything in them? Yup.

That's the first reaction my buddy gave me when I was telling him about it. He's permanently in his party teens at 34 though. I on the other hand left that life far behind me when my first kid was born, my wife would rip my heart out with a rusty spoon if I were to ever revisit those years.:saint::yes: Going to the hardware store tomorrow after work to see what they carry for Aerogarden seeds might try the tomatoes first to see if I can make them last longer than any other flower or plant I've tried to have in the house. I definitely don't have a green thumb that's for sure.

Itll grow a ton of peppers... Will they be hot, meh, maybe lol

The joys of aeroponics is that it gives your plant the optimum amount of water and air to the roots.. Peppers tho are masochists (sp?)... Angry little bastards that if deprived of water, get hotter with abuse lol!

So pick a hot pepper to start, habaneros or thai chiles... They'll still knock your socks off, but by their own measure, they'll be more mild than the hardened outdoor variety...

Those gardens are sweet tho, always wanted one! (so I made one  ) havent got a timer for it, but I can get like 64 plants going... I planted 4 butch ts outside, im going to clone them over the winter, and put them out in the spring.... 64 plants... Mmmmmm :shocked2:

Lol your garden will look way nicer tho.. Mines all mad scientist

I really wanted one of these and saw them on closeout at Target for really cheap. Then my wife reminded me of a lot of other toys I've been wanting (kites, 55g aquarium, new LCD, etc) and I ended up not getting it. Paid $5 for a Topsy Turvy instead. :dunno:

bought a few hanging pots from the .99cent store, drilled 1 1/2" holes in the bottom and put my seedlings in upside down... works great and the plastic pot will hold more weight(tomatoes get heavy) than the topsy thing
