Well fellow daredevils the time to test your mettle on the TARMAC is nearing.... :wee:
Just putting out a feeler to see what the interest is this year.
last year we flew on the weekend of 9-11. Early Sept. is cool so we can recoup for WildWood.
I think we had 25 peeps show up last year on Sat. and about
10-12 showed up on Sun. So lemme know if you guys want to do this again and I will get the ball rolling with the permits, etc...
If we can get at least 5-10 people I think it's worth it... :wee:
for a re-cap on last years event... (for those who were not here last year)

Cheesy how far are you from Ithica? We may be heading there later this month.
Oh yeah, I'm interested in the CheeseBall. Will have to check the callander.
cheezycheese - 7-7-2011 at 06:11 AM
Bout two or three hours south of Ithaca Dave... Besides I have NO where to fly anylonger... :flaming:
rocfighter - 7-7-2011 at 06:27 AM
Well not much in Cortland either. Wich is where The oldest kid lives. It is a village of Ithica. Some real nice feilds if you drive a while but all
farm lands.

shehatesmyhobbies - 25-7-2011 at 05:24 AM
Going to do my best. That is the weekend of my oldest kids birthday! I may bring the whole family, but will have to see what transpires! If the
campground is open by then I can bring the camper and make it easy!
cheezycheese - 25-7-2011 at 09:00 AM
Hey Rich, FBF actually has a great facility for rock climbing and gymnastics for the kids! They already have a campground, but not sure how large it
is. Would be great you can make it. Besides the date is open for suggestion as to allow for greater attendance...
shehatesmyhobbies - 25-7-2011 at 10:46 AM
Thanks Marc! I will check into it a little more as far as the camping goes and all!
Jaymz - 25-7-2011 at 07:36 PM
Here is a link to FBF's existing camping area.
http://www.nps.gov/gate/planyourvisit/camping-at-gateway.htm
They are in the planning stages for up to 600 sites!

Currently only 6 sites are for RV's. $20/night. NO hookups so fill the water tank and bring a quiet genny. Also there are very low clearance bridges
on the Belt Parkway, so you'd have to find another (longer) route if coming from the south. No trucks or trailers.
I may call tomorrow and look into reservations for an RV site, but may back out being I'm only an hour away and don't want the hassles of pulling the
trailer around the Boros.
But might be a good option for you and the family Rich.
shehatesmyhobbies - 26-7-2011 at 07:56 AM
Thanks Jaymz! I will look into it!
bobalooie57 - 26-7-2011 at 08:59 AM
Anyone know how full the camping area is at that time of year? Man, the smell of burnin' rubber! :wee:
cheezycheese - 26-7-2011 at 11:26 AM
Dunno, Bob but I would check soon...
bobalooie57 - 26-7-2011 at 12:18 PM
Just so I'm clear on this, plan for Sept.10&11? There are 16 sites available as of just now, each holding up to 6 people. Anybody?
cheezycheese - 26-7-2011 at 04:29 PM
Bob hold off a couple of days... Let me contact the parks dept. and see if that weekend is available to us.... I'm really glad to see the interest is
still there... IF YOU POST IT, THEY WILL COME....
matthewlavin - 29-7-2011 at 06:04 PM
I'll be there, but i live in NYC. I might be able to put someone up if needed. Although i'd like to stay out there too...More time in the sky!

cheezycheese - 4-8-2011 at 11:49 AM
Ok, here's the skinny... We can have the first or the last weekends in Sept. Or the 10th or the 17th...
All the other dates have events taking place.
What do you guys wanna do this year...? A one day event, or a weekend...?
bugymangp - 4-8-2011 at 12:01 PM
i vote for a 2 days event. should get at least one good day in
plus the last weekend of sept. winds might be better later in the month plus its cooler. weather wise.
Kober - 4-8-2011 at 07:00 PM
end of september ..... weekend event ......
Jaymz - 4-8-2011 at 08:28 PM
Sept. 11/12. Started out as a 9-11 memorial event (Todds idea?) so let's keep it going and keep it far enough from WWBB.
Plus the sooner the better, the buggies getting dusty! ;-);-)
