Hello! This is my first post here; I'm looking at getting into this awesome sport. So I need a kite. Preferably smaller kites would be best (I'm
from the windy land of Kansas).
Make me an offer!

Typical winds in your area?
Good starter size is a 3M kite with a little variance, depending on weight (less weight.... a 3 meters in the wrong winds can fly you into the
next zip code. More weight and you can generally hold a little more kite down).
Cold hard reality question: your approximate budget?
Among your options for used kites are (depending on winds and weight):
These are all kites that are located in the US. If you are elsewhere, you might want to specify location so don't take too much of a burn on
shipping.

Thanks so much! I am about 185lbs, and in Kansas it's almost never less than 10mph winds. Sometimes gusting to 35mph but usually between 15-20. I
definitely want a kite that will be able to pull me around a little bit and eventually (as I gain experience) provide some hang time. Would a 3m kite
be able to do that?
Thanks for your help!

Yes, a 3m kite will pull you around. Pulls me around and Im 275. But ultimately it all depends on the wind. A 1.4m kite will pull you around if the
wind is howling enough!!

Greetings MisterFast: Nice to see someone else from Kansas interested in kiting. I live in the Kansas City/Overland Park area and so far have not
met anyone else in my area who is involved in this sport (even though I know there must be others).
A member on PKF (Dino at DaKitez) sold me my first kite, a 2.6m Viper as was suggested for you. It is still one of my favorite kites. I am sure the
other suggestions from Sam (indigo_wolf) are great as well.
Let us know what you decide to buy. What part of Kansas are you in (if you don't mind sharing that)?

I might be able to help you out with a PL 3m Hornet.

Seems like there is another in KS, soccerflyer or something like that. I haven't seen him arround lately but if you search the member list you might
find his email or u2u him and get a message through. Good to see you are willing to start with a smaller safer kite and not trying to jump right
away. Lots of good kites out there. Good luck!

Yes indeed! I am from central kansas, about an hour north of Wichita. Thanks for the offers, everybody!
