Long throw bar for ARC

AD72 - 14-7-2011 at 01:08 PM

I have been flying my 18M Phantom on a 60cm Ocean Rodeo SLE bar which has the below the bar sheeting and it has worked well. Now that I have the bar tuned I don't have to pull in the sheeting, I just use the long bar throw to depower. I have the leash safety go to one of the front lines.

I have noticed posts about adjusting the connection at the kite. leaders. What is the default setting for an ARC pigtail with the flying lines equal? Closer to the kite or away from the kite?
Is it the same for Phantom, Venom and Synergy?

Im no expert but I fly the Phantom and Venom both with the only knot (small line with only one knot) on the LE and the second knot up on the TE. That works for me?

Chad is correct.......................Ive attached the ARC set up link

I believe and 18m Phanny is 39 3/4 inches on the front leader/knot and the rear line/knot is 2 inches...............................

The long throw bar from an Ocean Rodeo is exactly what I had done in creating long throw bars - using mostly OR components when adapting other bars - good thing you did mention the safety going to a front line and not attaching to the OR safety that comes through the loop, it wouldn't slide enough to flag the kite.
When the Phannies were new we were on the end of the front leader but eventually tied a knot a few inches higher on 15's and 18's to use when things had stretched out a little (the kite and also flying lines) and then used the higher knot (closer to the kite) in higher winds. It's basically a feel thing, if the kite is stalling too much then go a with a knot higher on the leader (closer to the kite).

Thanks Mark that was what I was looking for.
I just picked up a smaller 2010 bar on clearance from OR on ebay. Make an offer and get a good deal.
