Low wind session at Roosevelt

stetson05 - 21-7-2011 at 10:22 PM

A buddy and I went to Roosevelt in the Columbia Gorge. Wind is always better than forecasted but this time it wasn't.
Parking lot was full.

About forty kiters and windsurfers waiting to ride.

One guy riding

I wish my buddy could have gotten out too but still it was great.
(after a couple of edits I think I finally got the post right)

I haven't been out to Roosevelt yet, way too far... how was it? on the SA?

For me it is the closest place for good reliable wind. If the wind is low few things beat the 19m SA. Water was smooth and not too cold. About a foot of swell at the farside if you can call that swell otherwise it was very smooth. Usually Roosevelt has bigger swell and my 19m would be a paraglider in the wind there.

Sweet, You going this weekend???? :-D

stetson05 - 28-7-2011 at 10:55 PM

I was thinking about going tomorrow but I work Saturday and Sunday. Hydrafoil races here this weekend. I am sure I will be taking care of lots of drunk people. You working tomorrow?

I'll be at the coast for sure. Manzo is going off and will be wild tomorrow. Too windy for the buggy since the tide is in, so it'll have ta be a water session :D

No I haven't been working or going to school all summer but no money means no gas to go anywhere either easily, lol. Now I am starting a job on Monday woo hoo. Start saving for a 15m.

Bummer about no money. Good luck on the new job. I didn't go today cause I don't like going alone. Enough wind for me but maybe next time.

Read that as "My other buddy Jim hasn't got it together yet enough to do the Columbia" ;-)

Hopefully I'll be up and riding soon. Getting closer!
