All week long I've been on holidays sitting on Vancouver Island trying to catch a session. I woke up early trying to get some wind while the low tides
were out, and nothing. On Friday we left the Island for Powell River. To my dismay while sitting in the line-up in Comox, waiting for the ferry the
wind is blowing wind meter reading a nice 12-14 knots. I get to the other side and not even a breeze. I was there till this morning, of course when
I'm getting gas the trees start moving. Again at the ferry terminal waiting to make our way to mainland, I read a clean 11knots. It seems that I'll
never get to sail across a packed sand beach with clean winds blowing at my back. Worst part is we're not planning to come out for another year and a
half to two years. Shoulda left my kites at home I guess.

That stinks man... I feel your pain. I would be pretty pissed too. I get annoyed if I drive 5 minutes and then the wind dies as soon as I get my
kites in the air!
You should have got a kite out on the deck of the ferry... now if the fast cats were still in service that would be interesting
Safe travels.

Poor Macboy got let down with meeting up at GP yesterday as well.
At least I only traveled 40 minutes to get skunked. Meeting the Mac'Fam' is always worth the drive ! :Ange09:

That's one of the nice things about PKFamily......if there's no wind there's still great people to meet/catch up with. I had the offers to ride in the
little wind we did have that day but was more keen on the visit. Attached my upcoming skunk for the last two days of this trip.....
Saw a paraglider hovering over Fulford Harbour on Saltspring and the wife actually asked if I'd ever been interested in that. I reminded her that it's
how I got into kiting....she'd given me consent to look into para sports but I deemed it impractical for someone living in Edmonton and took to kiting
instead. Who knows.....I may just keep that door tentatively open...I know she'll regret having consented
Shaggs, we oughta twist your arm down to SOBB so we can all wait for wind together ; )

I would love to come to SOBB those beaches look incredible for riding, but that will have to wait we're in house hunting mode now. Our drive home was
rather long, stopping for three kids to stretch and potty breaks can really slow down the driving. We rolled into Edmonton at about 12:30am of course
due to being tired and hearing a baby scream for attention, I forgot that the speed limit dropped to 70km/h and got nailed by a speed on green camera
half way through the city.(I'm really hoping it was the only one, I never noticed any other flashes) To make it worse, this afternoon I drove by the
only field I kite in to find it under full construction
Apparently they are
building a school there and I never even noticed any news on it. Back to searching for open land suitable to kite on.:barf:
